You can go ahead and finish it, I don't want to put you behind. We can still talk about it. I'll read your spoilers, as I reach those chapters, and respond to them.
Karla wrote: "Chapter 27 [spoilers removed]"Do you like the story Karla? I really enjoyed it. It was so different from my life and she is such a wonderful writer. Have you read her other book Between Shades of Gray?
thank you for not minding that I finished it first instead of together.

I am enjoying it, so far. I just started chapter 29 (view spoiler) That will really affect what I think of the story.
No, I haven't read her other book. Have you? I have to check it out, I don't even no what it's about. I didn't mind you finishing the book before me. I read slowly (the doctors told my parents I wouldn't be able to read at all) and I don't want to slow anyone else down. I'm glad you're willing to still talk about the book with me.

I'm happy to come back and chat with you. Plus since its only the two of us that wouldn't be very nice of me to leave you all alone. One of my teammates read this book earlier, she enjoyed the book very much. Karla that is amazing that you are able to read when the doctors said it wouldn't be possible! Wow!
The other book is extremely well written. I did read it and loved it. It is one of my favorite books. It won more than 10 awards I believe.
Up through chapter 49 (view spoiler)I've added the author's other book to my TBR. I don't know when I will get to it, though.
Yeah, I was born with a defect to my eye, the bone that makes your eyes move back and forth wasn't developed. And then I had a lazy eye as a baby. I can't do somethings still, and my eyes mess up once in awhile. But, I can read.
Yeah Karla!(view spoiler)
Thanks Karla, for reading this with me! I have wanted to read it for a while
I was happy to read and discuss the book with you! Thank you for waiting on me. Hopefully, we can do another BR sometime.

Book Synopsis:
It’s 1950, and as the French Quarter of New Orleans simmers with secrets, seventeen-year-old Josie Moraine is silently stirring a pot of her own. Known among locals as the daughter of a brothel prostitute, Josie wants more out of life than the Big Easy has to offer.
She devises a plan get out, but a mysterious death in the Quarter leaves Josie tangled in an investigation that will challenge her allegiance to her mother, her conscience, and Willie Woodley, the brusque madam on Conti Street. Josie is caught between the dream of an elite college and a clandestine underworld. New Orleans lures her in her quest for truth, dangling temptation at every turn, and escalating to the ultimate test.
With characters as captivating as those in her internationally bestselling novel Between Shades of Gray, Ruta Sepetys skillfully creates a rich story of secrets, lies, and the haunting reminder that decisions can shape our destiny.
