Lorrie Moore wrote in the NYT about a book she remembers but can’t find from childhood- she thought it was called The Turnabout Girls but the books with that title are NOT the book she described. Her book is a children’s book that’s a female version of the Prince and the Pauper- some kind of trading places/role reversal story. Help! It’s driving me nuts now!

Maybe The Turnabout Twins. One twin ends up at an unexpected relative's place and experiences new things. The NYT review says, "...the unknown can prove both exciting and pleasurable. Meeting the orphan farmboy, Jepththa; picnicking with her new friend Angie; berry-picking, rescuing a dog in a flood - these all gave Becky much to tell and share when her twin suddenly appeared on a surprise visit."
