Could you please clarify what maskes these books a series?

It's a book within another author's series world. As you can see from the series listing above, there are quite other books already listed in the series. I tried to edit it and add it myself, but I think the system is glitching and it wouldn't let me. It kept taking me back to the home page.

Authors can't add books to series, only the librarians can.

As the other books have either no description or a single sentence is hard so see if it fits our definition of a series. So the books have characters or specific settings in common and not only a theme?

Yes, they all have the same common places and people in each book.

How is it that those authors were able to put their books in the same series group in the link I provided above?
