Jim (jimliedeka) These are some books I've read or re-read recently that I think could be important. They probably each deserve a post so this may be a warm-up for me.

1. Messengers of Deception by Jacques Vallee - looks at UFOs and encounters from a sociological viewpoint, particularly Structure-Functionalist. I wish I would have known about this book when I was a Sociology major.

2. The Eighth Tower by John Keel - the most recent of Keel's attempts at a unified field theory of the paranormal. I don't necessarily agree with everything but his ideas are based on years of field work and research.

3. Final Events by Nick Redfern - examines the possibility of a quasi-governmental think tank that believes aliens are demons in the Judeo-Christian sense. It's fascinating that such a group may exist and may be in a position to influence policy.

Little Miss Esoteric (littlemissesoteric) Vallee's good. I think Keel grew more wacky with each publication (just my opinion). Adding the third to my to read list. Thanks. :)

Jim (jimliedeka) I like Redfern. He's not a true believer. He just finds interesting new angles on paranormal topics. I also enjoyed his book The Pyramids and The Pentagon.

Little Miss Esoteric (littlemissesoteric) I've been following the folklore and fairy link in regards to 'aliens' and ufos for a while now. Also their role in prophecy, and the spiritualist movement of the 1800s. It's been interesting reading matter.

Just downloaded Redfern's book. :)

Thanks Jim! Two of these are new to me and look likely to provide valuable research for my new book.
