Eunji (angelicism) | 1 comments I feel like the last time I recollect reading this story was about a decade and a half ago, but tbh I sometimes I feel like I hallucinated this story entirety.

It's a short story, maybe 5-10 pages long, and seems very Ray Bradbury-esque but I can't find the exact story. It's set in probably the future, on Mars or the moon or another planet with gravity much lower than the Earth. A boy is playing with a high tech baseball bat and ball, and the ball... I think automatically returns to the bat after it's hit.

The boy's mother comes to the door of the house and yells at him to come back inside because a storm/rain/hail is coming, and urges him to hurry since it's approaching fast. The boy comes running in, and not a moment too soon since the storm arrives quickly.

Later, either later in the day or the next day, there are trucks outside collecting all the "hail" that has fallen, with the mother or the boy wondering why in the world Earth people want such rubbish, and it's heavily implied they are diamonds.
