That's a good one. Listening to good music (especially moody music) inspires me as an author.

I sometimes listen to music while I write and scenes comes to me.

Encouraging other writers. Reading other's work can make a writer want to write.

Thanks Eugenia.

I don't know what it feels like to have writer's block, but I do know what it feels like to not feel like writing and then when I come and read stories or even books, sometimes it makes me want to write.

Of course, I love to encourage writers to write.

If I can give any writer an advice. Especially, the ones that says they suffer from writer's block. Never write to a story that doesn't have your attention.

When a scene comes to you, write it down. Even if it's a side note to yourself.

message 70: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Sees Love in All Colors (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 7331 comments Mod
That is great advice that I definitely follow. Normally scenes will come to me when I'm not writing. I try to write those down when I get back to my computer.

message 74: by Sienna Mynx (new)

Sienna Mynx | 11 comments I have a popular triology. Actually I've only penned two stories: Aidens Game and Daisy's Choice. Every reader I have is contacting me for the third book. But I'm stumped. If I write the last book it will be just so much drama, and I've already kicked my characters butt. I just don't know where to introduce the balance. :-/

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 7331 comments Mod
Sienna, you have to wait until you are ready to write it. I say work on some other projects until the clarity hits you and you can write it.

message 76: by Nichelle (new)

Nichelle (ebondreamz) Sienna...was the plan always to make a trilogy? Cause if you go with the pressure, it could be forced and then it won't be as great as the others.

message 77: by Sienna Mynx (new)

Sienna Mynx | 11 comments Thanks ladies, I agree this has to be delayed until I'm inspired. The plan was never to write a trilogy, but I left the ending with a cliffhanger, a big no-no cause the readers are invested.

message 78: by Nichelle (new)

Nichelle (ebondreamz) Ahh yes as a reader, if there is a cliffhanger...and I am invested...I most definitely want more. But it needs to be on your time and filled with your inspiration. Not because someone wants it right now.

Good luck with that

Sienna, sometimes a writer can't help but have a cliffhanger.

message 80: by Delaney (last edited Jun 23, 2011 07:49AM) (new)

Delaney Diamond (delaney_diamond) Sienna, I agree with what everyone else says. Wait for the right time. Your readers will understand. They'll happily read the other stories you crank out until you can finish up the third book. The worst thing you can do is force it. Then they'll be disappointed if it isn't up to your usual good work.

I did end up writing a cliffhanger for my NaNoWriMo story this year. They can be frustrating, but there are good ways to do a cliffhanger if you must.

This year was my 3rd. Every year I think I won't finish but I am able to get my story written. I am a lazy writer with no motivation, so it's a nice kick in the pants for me.

message 84: by Nichelle (new)

Nichelle (ebondreamz) I finally found my motivation this past month to start writing. I am co-authoring books with a friend. We finished one that's about 90K and just finished one that is 12k. We are in editing mode now. I want to keep up the momentum.

That's awesome, Ebony. You could plan on making your next project your NaNo book. You just have to wait until Nov. 1 to start working on it.

message 86: by Nichelle (new)

Nichelle (ebondreamz) Yep...I know...so hopefully I don't forget about it in November. LOL. Don't know what I would write...but to just be writing would be excellent.

Thanks :)

I'm hoping to do NaNoWriMo this year. I did it for the first time in 2009. I didn't finish my story though.

I've skipped 2010, because I was focusing on my writing challenge story Trespassing. Speaking about my story Trespassing, it's been a month, since I have posted anything. I am writing my next installment and hopefully, it should be up by Saturday.

I still need to finish my story Courage on here.

Hey Sienna! So glad you joined the group! Huggs!

Did you manage to figure out what to do with the last of your trilogy? I know how reader pressure can get to you. I think part of that attributed to my break as I have som readers waiting for the last of my paranormal trilogy. But I agree with the others, you have to be ready to write it when you write it or else it won't feel as natural as the other books. Your heart has to be in it first and foremost and you have to be comfy with it before anyone else. :-)

I hope it works out for ya!

message 96: by Sienna Mynx (new)

Sienna Mynx | 11 comments Hey thanks to all!!
@Rae, I decided to put it aside for now. I know my readers want the third installment but most of all they want quality. And I can't give it to them at this time. I'm writing, but going where the creative process takes me. Hoping that process brings me back to my beloved couple soon.

Ruth Madison (ruthmadison) | 13 comments I definitely have certain themes that come up in every book that I write. I play with and experiment on some elements, but there is a core that distinctly labels my books as mine!

message 99: by Liz (new)

Liz Davis (LizDavisAuthor) | 25 comments I have a certain genre that I really enjoy writing right now, but am thinking of maybe branching out just a little bit. I won't stray too far from what I enjoy writing about, though. Maybe just throw a few different elements into the mix. I like trying new things out in order to keep things interesting.

message 100: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (isabeldavis) | 9 comments Do any of you guys write for the young-adult market? I do. I haven't met many others and I would love to. I would also love to read some IR romance that are plot driven that are YA and also if you are considering querying agents or publishers.
