As you see above, I was fooled by a red herring myself. Though as we discover that Finn was murdered by Dane, I still don't know why Ruby said it was Finn, not Dane. Couldn't quite understand that she couldn't see trusting Grace was her best route to safety.
Liar Liar by Mel Sherratt: Four Stars. More violence in this book than I like, but it kept me reading as several characters were appealing. Switches from past-Ruby to present-Ruby were more confusing as past came closer to present. I understood Ruby's fear of trusting Grace or anyone else; her self-worth was nearly destroyed by Dane and only her inner strength and determination to protect her children kept her going. Probably I would have had to read the previous books about Grace to understand her emotions and relationships with her family members. Would love to know how she grew up among the Steeles, yet went into law enforcement, and family let her live to do so. They seem totally brutal, though Eddie shows a glimmer of humanity.
