This is my first time joining a group, so I'll probably post sporadically, but I'm willing to try something new. Unfortunately I started a few days ago, because I thought it was Sami and I, so I'll wait for you guys to catch up.
Warning! I read this many years ago, so I'll do my best to avoid spoilers, which won't be hard given that my memory of the plot is sketchy at best, but it will come back at some point.

I'm five chapters in and though it's a little slow I still like it. It's better than what I was expecting.
...Am I the only one having a hard time remembering that Sabriel is a girl? Lol

Irene, I'm glad you liked it! So far, I can tell it's well written, but I am having a hard time getting into it and I'm hoping it'll be worth it in the end.

Finally getting into this! I didn't want to start until I'd finished Hero of Ages because I find it hard reading 2 fantasy books simultaneously, and it took forever!

I'm really into the necromancy and the magic system in this and idea of death Nix creates. It does throw you into it straight away, so I don't feel like we know that much about Sabriel and her life. I'm tempted to read book two just for the cats, they were one of the appealing things! The ending was pretty good compared to earlier, slower sections. I'm just not that impressed. (hide spoiler)]
