The new Ben Aaronovitch. I’m not that excited but I really think it’s me—I’m having a hard time reading anything which has never happened to me before.

Reading has felt more like a chore to me. I'm continuously side-tracked and looking for anything to distract. I was just complaining to hubby that for months I've been wanting more time to read and now I have it, I can't be bothered.

I find myself bouncing out of my fictional world so much more easily right now, it's harder to immerse yourself when our daily life is so fantastical. I'm avoiding consuming too much media because it terrifies me! Best wishes to you all!

Make sure you come back and tell me what you think of Reborn Yesterday. I've had my eye on it. Please and thank yous. :-)

I'm reading Jayne Castle After Dark which was recently on sale in ebook. You might like it, since you're doing fantasies this week.
I'm having a hard time reading at the moment, too. I probably need to for the escape but it's hard to pick anything up and stay interested.
I am trying to create boundaries around the news but it’s hard when my job makes me read news....

The only other event of note was a phone call from the exterminator that we need a Termite Inspection this week. Oh, joy.

I love AJ Fikry. I've got Reborn Yesterday on my TBR - let me know what you think.
I actually did manage to read My Fake Rake by Eva Leigh. It's a fun makeover story in which a scholarly heroine's scholarly gentleman friend remakes himself into a Rake (with the help of his Duke friend) in order to make her seem more attractive to another male scholar. It was lighthearted and engrossing enough to hold my attention so I call it a win!
