The Heavenly Emperor is called The Jade Emperor of the Heavens

The Monk sent out to ask the Buddha for the Scriptures:

Is the mortal reincarnation of the Venerable Golden Cicada
Jiangliu is our monk's "milk name" or the name his parents called him
Xuanzang is our monk's original Buddhist name
Sometimes called Tripitaka for the Buddhist text he is known for
His courtesy name is Tang Sanzang - Tang for the dynasty
He is often referred to as the Tang Monk or Tang Sanzang or simply The Monk
Also called The Earthly Emperor's younger brother or the younger brother of the Tang Emperor of the East

The Buddha's helper:

The Bodhisattva (entity on the way to enlightenment) is usually referred to simply as The Bodhisattva
She is sometimes referred to as Guanyin or Bodhisattva Guanyin or Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara
She has been asked by the Buddha to select our monk and assist our monk in getting the scriptures
She is able to exist in both Heavenly and Earthly realms

Buddhist name is Sun Wukong which means "Awakened to Emptiness" as given him by the Bodhisattva

Largely referred to as Monkey, Mind Monkey, Monkey King or Great Sage

The Mortal Reincarnation of Marshall Tien
Zhu Ganglie or Iron Haired Pig when we first meet him
His Buddhist name is Zhu Wuneng or Pig Awakened to Power
Tang Monk calls him Zhu Bajie or Eight Prohibitions Pig
Monkey calls him Younger Brother

Sand:

The Underwater Monster
The Mortal Reincarnation of General Great Curtain Lifting
Buddhist Name: Sha Wujing or Sand Awaken to Purity
Called Friar Sand

Horse:

Son of Ao Run, The Dragon King
Honorific is Prince Dragon Horse
Turned into a regular Horse for the Journey
