Gavin eventually forgives Samantha for her deception after Liam convinced him that her love for him is genuine. Dorian arranges for her to have a new name, Bonny Mackenzie and Gavin accepts her baby Ellie as his own. Did his acceptance make sense, was this a fairytale ending or a bit of both?

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments I could see Gavin deciding that he loved Sam and was willing to accept her child.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1205 comments It would be easier to believe that Gavin accepted the child as his, especially since it was a female. The primogeniture was not put in question. Otherwise, I think it would have been a stretch to believe.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments It was a bit of a fairy tale. I thought that Gavin turned pretty quickly there at the end. He had a lot to forgive Sam for. But, True Love Conquers All. Right?

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments Charlene, I agree. It would be much easier for Gavin to accept a girl since the estate would pass down to the oldest son. He'd want to make sure the oldest son was actually his blood.

I think it was a bit of both. He would have eventually forgiven her but not quite so quickly.

Charlene, you make a great point about it being easier because the baby was a girl. A son would have posed huge issues.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I agree. it was much easier since the baby was a girl.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments Yes, very much a fairy tale ending. I'm not sure a man with Gavin's temperament and background would really be so forgiving.

I've already mentioned my issues with Sam's willingness to deceive Gavin over the child and the issue of it being a boy or girl.
