*sigh* I've a hard time finding a book really funny with a story I want to read :S
I tried some "funny" book beginnings and didn't see where the fun was.
Maybe I'll re-read some Pratchett, I'm sure he will succeed to make me smile.

Yeah I have no idea what I'll pick up for this one. I love Ellen DeGeneres and she has quite a few books out. I'll probably get one of hers!
Yesterday, I read a preview which made me laugh 5 times (it's a fantasy book so it was unexpected + I'm a "funny=smile" person for books). I'll open a thread for it later, hoping people who are not interested in comedy will have a look at the preview and maybe find it funny too :)

I got around to writing a review of this, which I wanted to do because it was truly funny and it's rare to find novels that can make you laugh aloud. It's also just plain well-executed and unique, so I wanted folks to know about it for Week 8! It is not perhaps for everyone, but if you've spent huge chunks of your life in grad school or in an English or similar academic department - it's probably for you! Here is the review:

Everyone enjoys a good laugh now and then. This week pick up a funny book to lift up your spirits this winter. :)
How to Create a Topic:
1. Choose your book and create a topic in the appropriate folder using your book's author and title.
2. In the body of your post, comment about why you chose this book. Have you read it before? What are your expectations?
3. Feel free to use the thread as a way to update the group on your progress. Also, when you are finished reading, add a small review and your thoughts about the week's challenge.
4. Comment on everyone else's posts as well! Participation and group involvement will make this challenge so much fun!
**If you chose the same book as another group member, do not create a duplicate thread.**
