Hi there,

I read this book in 2012 when I was doing my degree and I cannot remember for the life of me what it’s called or who it’s by. The story is written like a memoir from a boy who fled the Russian invasion when he was a child and in the parent’s panic, they hand over their baby for safety. The novel recounts the trauma of the family following this decision as they were never reunited with their child; and the boy’s feeling of inadequacy and having to live in the shadow of a brother he has no memory of.
