I once read this book while in elementary (around 2009-2012) and absolutely loved it! Unfortunately, I haven't found it since. It was a collection of different versions of the tale of rumpelstiltskin. There was a specific version where the miller was a drunk and lies about his daughter being able to spin straw in to gold and the king end up forcing her to prove it [or else he burns their barn down (i think)], so he locked her in a tower and gives her the ultimatum. Then of course she frustrated and cries, loudly enough where rumpelstiltskin hears. Then comes to her aid. [He isn't depicted as the short weird guy but instead is a tall handsome man and is later revealed to be an elf or something.] He asks her why shes crying and offers her a handkerchief. She of course is startled and she takes it, and tells her dilemma. He helps her and spins all the straw into gold, they talk and he leaves. Then the king makes her do it again and she cries and rumplestiltskin comes again and helps her. [This parts a little hazy.] She ends up marring the king against will and ends up with a baby but the king is horrible to them and she cries again and rumplestiltskin come and he offers her a better life in his world, and he side steps into his world with them and they live happily ever after. It would mean so much to get my hands on this, thank you so much for helping. Feel free to contact me if you have any leads.

MJ, about how many versions of the Rumpelstiltskin tale are in this book? Are there completely different folktales also in this book?
Hey are all rumplestiltskin tales just different versions of it. I'm not sure how many probably around 10-12ish maybe, but ita not a large book. I remember it being a small chapter book. Not much bigger than 200 pages.
