I'm excited about beginning, as well. The hiatus after Hard Times did me good, and now I'm all anticipation.
BTW Zulfiya - do you know anything about the regular group January read? There hasn't been a thread started about the nomination process, and January 1 is coming up rapidly.
Looking forward to Dorrit too. I've seen two adaptations, but this is one of the Dickenses I've never read.
Lynnm wrote: "Yeay! Can't wait to begin...."I can't wait either. Despite or due to my 60 hours-weeks at work I am really missing the Dickens readings.
We will start on the 4th, won't we? Looking forward to it.
I read this in grad school (almost 40 years ago! )and it seems to me we had to read the whole thing in a week, which pretty much ruined it for me. I have only a vague memory of a couple scenes.
Lynnm, I am not sure that we have decided what to do with the upcoming January read. My idea is to make it more diverse. We have not read any German literary voices and pens, and it might be the time to explore this new horizon. Silver and I are considering several options for the group.

Funnily enough, I was re reading the blurb for this group today and wondered whether we couldn't do more along the lines of "potential connections and relationships with other artistic movements and periods (e.g., music, visual arts, architecture, etc.).". This is the wrong thread to post suggestions in, I know, but as the subject has been raised here I thought I'd stick in my tuppence ha'penny worth.

And sorry to post it here, but didn't know where else to put it where someone would see it.
Also, I hope that we can extend the timeline a bit, and read some works from WWI authors.
I'm hoping to join in on "Little Dorritt." I've been experiencing serious health issues and have had surgeries these past few months, so I haven't been active in the group, but I'm hoping to be able to get back into the Dickens Project! Merry Christmas to all!
Merry Christmas, Sarah. I hope you will recover and recuperate soon and will enjoy life to the fullest.
Merry Christmas to everyone from my side, too.Sarah, I am sorry to hear about your condition and hope you are feeling better very soon.
I am looking forward to the discussion of Little Dorrit with you.
Hi, I'm looking forward to the discussions. I actually just finished Little Dorrit, and came across this group when I added it to my GR list. I tend to be one of those readers who needs a "sanity saver" around the holidays each year, something to escape to when the real world starts stressing me out. (Or maybe I just love Dickens so much that I can always think of a reason to read him, whatever the season or reason).

You may post before the schedule, dear friends, and it is totally kosher.
Please feel free to post your suggestions or ideas about the project and what we can do to improve our project.
