Alright... How's this?Girl A lived a perfect life. Everything she could have asked for and more was hers. She was born the daughter of the chairman, and was her fathers heir. As soon as her father died, she would become the chairman of the state. Everything was perfect, until she was framed for a murder she didn't commit. She was forced to flee, and found an unlikely ally while hiding on the streets.
Boy A lived his life on the streets. His parents had died when he was young, and he'd managed to run away from all the foster homes he was put in. Then, when he was a little older, he managed to avoid the police as well. He lived on the streets, just barely managing to scrape by, doing whatever he had to do to get money or food. When he saw Girl A on the streets, his first thought was to rob her. She was obviously from a richer family, and would probably be carrying money on her. Then, when he recognized her, he took pity on her and showed her how to hide and survive on the run.
Yeah... We could maybe have more than the one person on the street. Or two friends who were framed for the murder

Kira stood, leaning against a pillar in the fancy room. There were people milling about, wearing fancy dresses and suits. Some people tried to talk to her, but she politely pushed them away by telling them she had a headache. This wasn't true, but it gave her a few moments alone in a room full of people who were eager to kiss up to the chairman's heir.
Kira jumps at his touch, then relaxed when she realized it was Adrian. "I'm fine. Just not in the mood for social interaction." Kira responds quietly.Max approached Echo, sitting next to her. He silently handed her half a sandwich, taking a bite of the other half.
Kira pulled out of his arms, taking his hand instead. "Might as well." She said, leading him to a side door. She didn't know where it lead, but anywhere was better than there.Max nodds before taking another bite. With his free hand, he flicked a pebble, sending it skidding across the filthy ground of the alley.
"Sounds good to me." Kira responds, looking around. They had ended up in a hallway, with closed doors on either side. She continued walking, sure that there would be a fire escape at the end.Max shook his head at the sandwich. "It's yours. It would've been selfish of me to rob the poor guy and then not share what I got out of it." He teases.
"I have no clue what's playing. I don't exactly get to get out much." Kira says, walking out into the fading light.Max shook his head. "No, I don't. We both need the food. I'm not going to eat it, so if you don't eat it, then I'm sure that a hungry rat somewhere would like it."
"Ok." Kira says, leaning slightly on Adrian when he put his arm around her.Max pulls a small (and mostly clean) plastic bag out of the black bag that hung from his shoulder. He held it out to Echo. "Here," He says, "Put it in this."
"Treats?" Kira asked, looking up at Adrian and wiggling her eyebrows."Knock yourself out." Max says and leans back slightly. He always loved listening to her play, but most of the time, he was out doing his own stuff.
"Of course." Kira says, smiling back. They were getting odd looks because of their fancy attire. Not that she cared."Sounds good to me." Max said, stuffing the rest of his sandwich in his mouth and standing up.
Kira nodds and takes his arm, grabbing a peice of popcorn and eating it with a smile.Max swallows the over sized lump of food before walking toward the town square.
Kira sits down next to Adrian, and she immediatly leaned onto him, taking another bite of popcorn.Max stares at the violin admiringly. If he could do something like that instead of theiving, he would. Though stealing the money gains more than begging for it, begging for it is a lot safer.
Kira snuggled closer to him, leaning her head onto his shoulder. She looks up at him, then turned her attention to the movie.Max listened to her play, enjoying the music that flowed so easily from her instrument. He was slightly surprised at how much money she was getting already.
At the end of the movie, Kira was still snuggled against him. She stood, stretching and giving a yawn. "So, that was good." She said once she'd stopped yawning.Max glanced into the case, looking at how much money she'd made. "That was amazing." He said honestly. It was dark, and there wasn't as many people out, so she wasn't getting as much as she was to begin with.
Kira nodds, grabbing Adrians hand. It wouldn't take long for her father to find out where they were and blow his top because she'd snuck away."Yeah." Max said, looking around for a second hand shop.
Kira smiles slightly at the violin player, then looks up at Adrian. Going by their standards, it wasn't exactly a lot of money to give away.Max stares at the couple, dressed so nice just for a walk through town. Surely they would be carrying a lot more money than the twenty... He forces the thought out of his mind. There were too many people here.
Kira gently nudged Adrian with her shoulder. "That was awfully nice of you." She said, raising an eyebrow.Max looks at Echo in disbelief. He quickly shakes it off and looks at the backs of the couple. "What do you think that was about?"
Kira nodded, then looked around. "Were are we going?" She asked.Max stood, holding out his hand to help Echo up.
Kira turns to give him a hug. "Thank you for the escape." She says softly.Max watches her, then turned his attention to the stores around them, looking for a cheap thrift shop.
Kira smiles then pulls away. "Now you'd better go. My father's going to be furious. When I tell him that I left when I wasn't on deaths door."Max follows her with a slight smile on his face. He walks into the store after her, barely glancing around at the shelves.
Kira smiles and says, "You being there will probably only make it worse."Max picks out a coat that had hidden pockets, and a knife. He tucks the knife into one of the pockets, figuring that it was better if Echo didn't know he had it.
Kira raises an eyebrow. "Fine, then. If you're so eager to take responsibility, then don't come crying to me when my father kills you." She teases in a mock stern voice.Max looks up at Echo to make sure that she was still occupied, then slipped out the door, headed for a sweets shop that he'd seen two doors down. He walked inside, looking around for something to get Echo.
"I could see him doing that too." Kira says with a small laugh.Max eyes a large chocolate box, but then realizes just how much it cost. Instead, he got a small box that took up the rest of his money. He would just get more later.
Kira sighs slightly before opening the door to her own home. "Father?" She called.Max walks out of the shop with the plastic bag in his hand, spotting Echo walking in the other direction. He stops her and smiles. "You got everything you need?" He looks at her, then frowns. "Where's you coat?"
Kira walked into the living room, expecting to see her father waiting for them. The room was empty, and she frowns, then leads Adrian across the room toward his office.Max looked at her suspiciously for a moment, then shrugged it off. "Here." He said, taking his own jacket off and offering it to her. He could feel the weight of the knife, but he hoped that she wouldn't.
"I don't know." Kira mutters back, trying to listen through the door. "Yes." She says as she heard a muffled voice. She opens the door a crack and could see her father behind the desk, on the phone."I'm not putting it back on, so if you don't wear it, then I'm sure someone else would love to have a new jacket this winter." Max said stubbornly.
"There's no way that they would do that." The chairman argued, swiveling in his black leather chair. "Yes, I admit that it does sound suspicious, but I'm telling you, they just wouldn't do it."Kira listened intently at the door, furrowing her brow and thinking that this probably wasn't meant for her ears. Not that it was going to stop her from easedropping.
"Yeah, and what about you?" Max counters. "Am I supposed to just let you freeze just because you wouldn't exept my coat? No, I'll force it on you if I have to." Max says.
"So, they snuck out! It isn't that big of a deal! I'm not saying it's right or anything, but it's happened before. They were probably out watching a movie or something." The chairman said suddenly, and he stood up and began pacing.Kira froze, surprised when she realizes that he was talking about them. What was going on? What was so important that the chairman himself got involved in it?
Max throws the coat on the ground, flinching slightly as he heard the dull thud of the knife on the cement. He put his hands up, standing in a mock stance so he was ready in case she tried to run. "There. Now we both get to freeze. Are you happy now?"
The chairman stops pacing long enough to pour himself a glass of whiskey, then begins pacing with his phone in one hand and the glass in the other. "What would they do with them? How long?" He asks after a long pause.Kira shrugged, confused. She grows even more so when she glances through the crack and sees her father's worried face.
Max tries to grab at her sleeve, but just barely misses. Letting out a few unflattering words, he scoops up the jacket and the bag, running after her. "Okay! Okay! You win!" He says quickly to stop her from jumping into the icey water.
The chairman stays silent for a moment, finishing his whiskey. He pours himself another glass, still listening to the voice on the other line.Kira squeezes back, staring at her father. What did he mean 'what will they do with them?' What was going on?
Max sets the bag on the ground, then shruggs the cold jacket on. "You happy? Now step away from the fountain." He says, eyeing the water.
"Tell him that we're here?" Kira whispers back. "This is obviously about us."Max approaches her, putting his arm around her. If she wasn't going to wear the jacket, then he was at least going to try to share body heat.
"They should be home any minute. I'll tell them when they get here." The chairman finishes off his glass a second time, and hangs up the phone."Yeah. Let's go. Like, now." Kira says urgently, nudging him slightly in the direction of the living room. "We'll pretend we just walked in."
Max smiles slightly. "So did I. Or, I mean, I got a present for you, not for me." He corrects, realizing how it sounded.
The chairman walks out of the office, jumping slightly when he saw the two walking into the living room. "Where were you?" He asks, trying -and failing- to sound stern.Kira smiles, wraping her arms around Adrian. "We didn't want to stay at the party. So we went to see a movie." She answers honestly. Normally, she would beat around the bush, but now seemed like the time to be as honest as possibe.
"Neither did you." Max says, reaching into his jacket and pulling out the box of chocolates, still wrapped in the plastic bag. He held it out to her.
The chairman nodded, looking at the ticket stubs. "Well, see," He said. "There's been an accident. I'm sure you didn't have anything to do with it, but there are some who think otherwise.""What happened?" Kira prodded, looking at her father. He was usually a calm and collected man, and it was strange to see him like this.
"Thank you." Max said, looking at the book that she had gotten him. It was a thriller, about a spy being a double agent. Then he frowned. No wonder she hadn't gotten a coat for herself. This must've cost most of the twenty dollars. He opened his mouth to say something, then closed it. He wasn't about to bring the coat thing up again.
"Yes." The chairman said after a pause. "Yes, someone has. It was Reagan. Kira, you remember her, don't you?" Without waiting for her to respond, he went on. "She's the chairman of Baye's daughter. They were here to work out a treaty between the states, but Reagan was killed."Kira froze, not exactly surprised by the news, but wishing it wasn't true. She swallows and looks at Adrian. Her and Reagan had been unofficial friends, only seeing each other on a few occasions and about the same age. "Why do they think it was us?" She asked after a moment.
Max smiles slightly and leads her away from the square, towards the alley that they slept in. It was only a few blocks away.
"Stabbed to death in an alley." He gave a tense smile. "Seems she had the same idea as you."Kira looks up at Adrian, her brow furrowed. That would explain most of the conversation in the office. "When?" She asks, turning back to her father.
"Of course." Max says, smiling down at her.
((Yeah, me too))
"It happened when you were gone. That's why they think it was you." Her father clarified. He rubbs his face with his hands and then looks back up. "The press are going to be all over this."Kira swallowed. She knew that the press grabbed at any straws there were on any story there was. And this story would be pretty big.
Max sits next to her. He opens the book and looked up at her. "You ready for this? It seems like a pretty intense book." He teases with a smile.
