Thoeny | 8 comments This is extremely vague, I read it in fourth or fifth grade so that would put the publication date before 2010 I believe. It took place on some sort of dystopian man-made island, or possibly just a city with a large wall facing the ocean.
One of the characters is part mechanical part human remains, he starts out bad but at one point a bird flies through his window and he nurses it back to health. I believe at one point he takes off in a boat into the ocean that nobody ever returns from.

I will try to remember more details, please this has been bothering me for years!

Thoeny | 8 comments Oh! I remember it has some storm themed word in its title, maybe lightning or thunder?

Thoeny, are there other Frankenstein-like characters on the island? Does someone new arrive on the island?

Can you tell us about the creator or how these creatures came to be? (Spoilers are okay - just give us a clear warning before revealing a spoiler.)

Is this a horror novel?

Can we eliminate The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey?

Thoeny | 8 comments Hi Kris, thank you for the reply! I really wish I had more details. As far as I'm aware this man was the only thing of his kind, but it was a full city with people. I cannot remember how he was created. I do not beleive it was a horror novel it seemed more dark scifi - adventure in the veign of something like the hunger games
