I believe I read this book in about late 2017 to early 2019. I remember it had been about a kid that had gotten very injured and he was a football star for his team. He had a girlfriend and he was told he might not ever be able to play again. He was very upset and isolated himself in his room after hearing the news. Eventually, he plays a ton of videogames and ends up getting sucked into one. I remember he was extremely distraught when he first arrived and he eventually defeats the person in control of the world and I believe it may have helped him repair himself, although I cannot remember.
