Hi all, I’m looking for this book for a friend that neither me or her know the title of. She mentioned how it had a linocut picture of a small cabin on the front cover, the spine was fraying a little, and it might've had "Animal" in the title (She can’t confirm if that’s the case however) She says it might’ve been about a man living alone in that cabin (he might've been a werewolf?) until he meets a woman of some supernatural description (mermaid? Nymph?) and she comes to live in the cabin as well. She said the book of which the title she can’t recall, gave off a magical vibe.

So she hasn’t gotten back to me about the year she saw it but she should be in her twenties or early 30s. She said she came across it when she was younger in the young adult section but she said she hadn’t graduated yet so she felt very grown up when she came across this YA book. I’m guessing she was in high school or middle school
