When I was little (born 1996 and read before 2007, so it could've been published anytime before 07, really-seems unlikely to be as far back as 70, but don't remember succinctly), my mom had gotten us a book that we loved reading...well, looking at, really. I don't recall it having any words besides those that were on the flour and sugar containers (labeled flour and sugar). The book was tiny people making a cake. NOT a cookbook, although there may have been a recipe for the cake in the back of the book.
The people were all white, and chubby, even their clothes were white. It was a guy and girl but others joined them at the end to eat it. At one point, I remember they got whipped cream in their hats/heads and rode the chicken to get the eggs.
**BIG DETAIL** that I can remember is that the pages were translucent, which made this book genius. Every page had on its reverse an image that matched the silhouette of the last. For example, a person's hand and the curve of their fingers would form, on the back side, a whipped cream dollop.
I remember that this was a berry cake as they got fruit from the garden and used it in layers with the cream.
My mom has since gotten rid of it and my sisters and I have searched high and low and googled and researched and asked and tried forums until our brains hurt, to no avail.
PLEASE HELP!!!
