I have a manuscript that's nearly finished (yay!) at 71k. The problem is, I'm not sure how to workshop it. I'm in a writing group with 3 friends and we try to meet around once or twice a month. We usually workshop excerpts, and this would be the first time I'd have them read an entire manuscript. If I only gave them a chapter or two per meeting, then they would need like a year to finish it, which isn't too helpful. So I'm wondering for all you writers who participate in workshops, how do you workshop long manuscripts? Do you give them the whole thing and then wait for them to finish? Or do you give large chunks of the story over a period of a month or two? I'm not sure of the best way to do this.
