HEA is Everything (heaiseverything) | 32 comments Ok so off the top of my head I think I've read two books that had a surprise element that I for one book didn't see coming and for another totally saw it coming, I want to read more books like that but at the same time if I straight up ask for it then the element isn't so surprising anymore does anyone share this little issue with me?

Marlene | 254 comments The book that springs to mind is Jane Eyre. I wasn't sure WHAT to expect, but what occurred was a surprise! I read it in high school during my senior year. Love that story, but in general, I like a nice safe read, so I don't tend to look for plots with surprises.

Lynne Stringer | 17 comments I love Jane Eyre. It's one of my all-time favourite books. I'd seen one of the movies first, though, so the way the book went wasn't all that much of a surprise.

I can remember LM Montgomery's Rilla of Ingleside taking me by surprise a couple of times. Another one that did was one of the Black Stallion books.

Marlene | 254 comments I love the Anne books. That reminds me that I started listening to the Anne books as an adult and never got back to them.....
