Toronto libraries are still open but if they do close I have plans to read The Wanderers by Chuck Wendig. It's a great big book about a virus that causes people to become almost like sleepwalkers. They just keep walking endlessly. Unresponsive, they can't be stopped or woken up.

I also have a collection of Seanan McGuire's zombie novels and novellas called Rise. I've read the novels but the shorter pieces are new to me.

I put together a list of short story collections available from Toronto Public Library as eBooks. If you, like me, can't hold a thought long enough to finish a sentence.

Alan | 5 comments Thank-you for that short story list.
I just finished a very good collection that I actually found in the TPL catalogue. The writer is Ian Colford and he lives in Halifax. He’s written several books but I didn’t know of him before I searched for new Canadian short story collections. The book is called The Dark House and other stories. Most of the collection was exceptional, wonderfully insightful and passionate stories about people whose lives are changing. Unfortunately three of the stories were quite week. Still a wonderful writer.

Alan | 5 comments Just finished a very good book by a local writer which I actually borrowed from Overdrive. It is Recipe for a Perfect Wife. There are two narrators to this very good book because the book takes place at different points in time. The narrator of the historical era is exceptional,as is her story. A very good listen/ read. I just mailed a copy to my Mother who I know will love it.
