In the book, girls are not allowed to read. There is a conversation between a girl and her mother, where her mother says, "Were you reading up there?" (upstairs) and the girl says no, and the mother says, “Then why was the candle on? You know you shouldn’t read.”
My child can’t remember the title, but thinks it was one word starting with O or Q. It was a fairly thick book, not a small chapter book.
The cover art showed a flying horse or unicorn, flying toward a tower.
We're stuck at home bc of coronavirus, so I super appreciate anyone who can help us track down this book my kid wants to read.
