Just started this one. I'm about 4% in and a bit confused with the characters already. I have to go back and make sure I have it straight!
Just starting this tonight, have done great reviews, can't wait to see where this goes.
I read this one last month. I found it well written, but it wasn't my type of book overall.
It's a bit confusing at the start yes, but you get the hang of it fairly quickly.I've read this last year and quite enjoyed its sense of epicness.

Thanks. I looked up the character list and that did not help at all. I think I know the important characters and the side people I'll get to know as I go on, so I'm just going to continue. I can always go back later, if I need to.
Started tonight, and the storytelling is going to begin soon I think. Loving it so far!

Just started this today, looks good but many characters all ready hope i don't get lost!
so I've just read where Trapis tells the story of Tehlu and Encanis. I found it so interesting to read! I've been loving the book so far.

I read this book about two years ago. Never read the sequel. Maybe it's time for a reread.
This is my favorite book of all time. The broken strings just broke my heart.
I can't get into this... :( I am trying so hard and nothing is clicking for me. ;(
Sorry to hear it, Kathleen! It's a long book to muddle through, if you're not enjoying it.
It might get better for you once you've gotten past the beginning?
I've finished and thought it was really good. It seems like not much really happened, but I enjoyed it. I think part of that feeling is that the story is incomplete. It is meant to be read together with the other 2 books in the trilogy to create one complete story.
I had that feeling as well, but when you look back over it, Kvothe did do quite a lot after all and there was quite a bit of information in the book. Odd feeling :-)
I just started , but I think the story is very interesting and I'm eager to know the past of Kvothe.
I finished it, I loved it :)
First read this book when I was a young teen (heh I'm 20 this year) I must say even though the characters might confuse you initially, they are really easy to identify once you get into the story.I have re-read this books a couple of times because I really love the story development as well as the author's style of writing.

The name of the wind is my favorite fantasy series I have ever read. I wish this book could have been 2000 pages long
