Elizabeth (Alaska) Has the option to set a default description been removed? Did I miss an announcement?

Sandra | 31458 comments I just picked a random book to check, and the default description box was still there.

Elizabeth (Alaska) OK, well I was just editing a description and the option was *not* there on either the edition I was editing nor on the edition where I got a better description.

Sandra | 31458 comments I believe you Elizabeth ... maybe a glitch??

The book I checked was https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

Perhaps. That's why I was asking. It was interesting, because the edit page told me how many editions were using the description on that edition (which I did not verify). I sort of thought that couldn't be without specific programming.

I like having the default description, but it is not without its problems.

Sandra | 31458 comments It's definitely handy on occasions and a nuisance at other times :)

Elizabeth (Alaska) And, by the way, the book in question now is displaying the "set default description" language. Perhaps it didn't have a default? I don't know.

(What a way to start the day!)

Elizabeth (Alaska) Ha! Yes, we're 19 or 20 hours difference, depending on where you are in your country.

Elizabeth (Alaska) Not sure now that we have daylight savings, but in January, we're 20 hours from Melbourne. I think it's 19 year this time of year. You're up late - and I'm an early riser.

Sandra | 31458 comments We're the same as Melbourne, and still in daylight savings I think till early April. It'll go to 20 hrs then I guess.

If I was in Perth, I'd be another 3 hrs.
