Daniel Clark I am liking this book so far. This is my first time reading a book on Wattpad, and I wanted a way to turn it into an epub or similar file. I found a way to make this myself manually, so if you want more information about that, let me know!

Emory Skwara (emoryxskwara) | 2 comments Wow. Thanks for reading my book! I hope you enjoy it. FYI, right now on Amazon and Smashwords the ebook file is Free. Might be easier than manually hacking Wattpad hahaha. Good initiative though. I'm impressed! =D

Daniel Clark Awesome to have Mr. Skwara out here on the discussion board of our up-and-coming group. Definitely a cool guy and an excellent author as well!

This turned out to be a really cool book. I loved all the elements--fantasy, adventure, good vs. evil, mystery and intrigue, romance, etc. The author definitely has a cinematic eye for things--he paints a good picture and develops the story very well.

I was about 3/4 of the way through when I realized that all of my questions weren't going to be answered in this, the first book of the series. Which is totally fine. Also, I loved the Numinous character, the all-wise owl. The book is really of a high caliber--especially for being free!

I liked how, since the characters were from Earth but were visitors on Rood'ravil, they kind of showed the reader into this new world. We get to explore together. This is similar to our last month's book, A Princess of Mars. I can't wait to find out more in this cool series and answer all my questions about each of the characters.

One technique the author used was different narratives/perspectives for the characters. This was actually more seamless than I might have expected. Maybe I expected the different perspectives to be redundant, but they weren't. It was a nice way to reveal the inner thoughts and behind-the-scenes info that you didn't catch when looking through a different set of eyes.

The voice of the novel was playful and was grounded in the current vernacular, even though the book is basically a fantasy novel (so you might expect more refined prose). It made the experiences of the teenage characters more real and believable.

Thanks so much for your thoughts on Numinous. Really appreciate everything you said here and in your review of the book. I think you made a solid point about the vernacular in the dialogue. I wanted the book to be approachable for non-fantasy fans, especially young adults, so that's mostly why I took that approach, but I see what you're saying about some of the Elk King's dialogue. I'm certainly going to revisit that. Best of luck with the group. I'm interested what other stuff you'll be reading!
