Jessica L Lee (jessicallee) | 14 comments Hi all, im new to the group and have read a lot of PNR. Started off with the PG stuff like twilight, vamp academy, immortal instruments. Then started to read karen lynch series and secret mcqueen, felt like i wasted my time with that one but couldnt get enough of the bad writing cuz i liked the male characters.

Just finished reading the renegade series to find out it hasnt been finished....gutted now trying to find something to fill the void.

Into more adult PNR, like where its mixed paranormal, vamps weres, faye. Like a good romance story with saucy scenes too. Where it has a story and not just sex.

Any help would be amazing. Want a series and not one off books. Hope ive included enough info for you all to see what type of books im into.

Kelly | 7 comments - Christine Feehan has the Dark Series. There's over 30 books in that series and she's still putting out new ones. There are a couple books in there that are sex heavy but the story is great and well written.
- Jackie May has a cool trilogy (Don't cheat me; Don't Rush Me; Don't Bait Me)
- Nora Roberts has a couple of trilogies that fit the genre: Three sisters island; dance of the gods; cousins o'dwyer

Kelly | 7 comments DB Reynolds also has the Vampires in America series.
Hope these help.

Jessica L Lee (jessicallee) | 14 comments Thanks Kelly I'll have a look at the suggestions

Deborah Kimberley (debemkim) | 40 comments Amanda Carol has the Awakened series. That’s really good

Chloe Balkin (chloealicebalkin) | 21 comments I'm a big fan of Larissa Ione's Demonica series. She does a really good job of expanding the world and heightening the drama with every book, so it doesn't get stale.

Some of the authors with series that I would recommend are: Jane Cousins, Southern Sanctuary series (there are editing issues especially in the first few but I think the stories and characters are worth it), Christine Warren both her Gargoyles (first 4 anyway) and her others series, Shelly Laurenston/GA Aiken writes good stuff under both names, Jacqueline Frank Nightwalker series, Cynthia Eden, Lynsay Sands Argeneau series (vampires). There are a lot of good authors I follow but these are the ones who come to mind.

Renee | 2 comments Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series is AWESOME!!! 15 books so far and even has spin-offs!! U will love it. Let me know what you think if you decide to try it.

Jessica L Lee (jessicallee) | 14 comments Thanks girls I will give them all a view. I always read a few reviews before taking on a series but I also know what might be my cup of tea, isn't always someone else's thanks for the starters tho.

Mony (mony1) | 4527 comments The Hollows Series by Harrison
Fever series by Moning

Renee | 2 comments The Guild Hunter Series is one that I just completed and it was GRRRREEEEEAAT!!! 12 books in the series and 3 more contracted but 12 has a decent end that I am not left on the edge of my seat. But I definitely have my calendar marked for the release of the others!! It has angels and vampires but with a twist---the vampires are made by the angels and therefore in contract with them for 100 years. I hope this helps.

Carolien (carriescorner) | 1 comments I think you will love book series from Jennifer Estep (Elemental Assassin / Crown of Shards) and my all time favorite is Dark Swan from Richelle Mead (you know her from reading Vampire Academy) If you are up for some more reading try books by WJ May (chronicles of Kerrigan) and CN Crawford (institute of the shadow fae).

message 13: by Athena (new)

Athena | 18 comments Those were my favorite YA books too. Since our taste is slightly similar I’d highly recommend Crescent City by Sarah J Maas. She also has a Court of Thorns and Roses series (which is amazing). I am working on the Night Huntress series. The Fever series is great. Mead has an adult PNR series called Succubus Blues. Mercy Thompson and Kate Daniels are also great series to binge.

Maryanne Cross | 3 comments Some books I would recommend are the following:

1. The Host by Stephenie Myer if you haven't read that one yet.
2. Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones - try the book. Please don't go based off of the anime. Her second book Castle in the Air was wicked good too which focuses on different characters, not from the 1st book.
3. Wolves Among Danes by Dolly Nightmare -The novel is a recent find I discovered on Kindle.

kittykat AKA Ms. Tortitude | 156 comments These are some I've read, most of which never or rarely get talked about...

First books in series that are heavy on the sex and/or romance
Witchling (Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon, #1) by Yasmine Galenorn Night Myst (Indigo Court, #1) by Yasmine Galenorn Full Moon Rising (Riley Jenson Guardian #1) by Keri Arthur Darkness Unbound (Dark Angels, #1) by Keri Arthur Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost Matters of the Blood (Blood Lines #1) by Maria Lima

Great but low (still has some) romance/sex first books in series
Magic to the Bone (Allie Beckstrom, #1) by Devon Monk Dark Currents (Agent of Hel, #1) by Jacqueline Carey Diaries of an Urban Panther (Diaries of an Urban Panther #1) by Amanda Arista Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison The Better Part of Darkness (Charlie Madigan, #1) by Kelly Gay

If you're looking for humor, literally anything by Shelley Laurenston is pants-wetting level hilarious but especially her most recent series
Hot and Badgered (Honey Badger Chronicles, #1) by Shelly Laurenston In a Badger Way (Honey Badger Chronicles, #2) by Shelly Laurenston Badger to the Bone (Honey Badger Chronicles, #3) by Shelly Laurenston although it's a story of sisterly shenanigans at its core and not as romance based as her others, IMO it's utter chaos at it's best.

More humor (and among the first PNR's I ever read that were more than just two or three in a series)
Undead and Unwed (Undead, #1) by MaryJanice Davidson Derik's Bane Number 3 in series (Wyndham Werewolves) by MaryJanice Davidson

If you have KU and enjoy shorter works too, TS Joyce has written a whole load of novellas in a slew of different (mini, because they are only novella length, between 100-150 pages mostly) series in her Damon’s Mountains Universe which include shifters of many types, including dragons. There's also an overarching plot that starts at book 1, so it's best read in order (but I'm a stickler for that!). There's plenty of humor, some angst, some action and very few billionaires in sight (only one that I can recall - yea!). She has other stuff too, a shorter current series to try if you're interested is this one
Steal Her Heart (Kaid Ranch Shifters, #1) by T.S. Joyce Make Her New (Kaid Ranch Shifters, #2) by T.S. Joyce Lift Her Up (Kaid Ranch Shifters, #3) by T.S. Joyce .

TJ Klune is a superior writer, of MM romance in many sub-genres and his Green Creek werewolf (and witch) series is beautiful, atmospheric, and angsty with some moments of humor and a few sex scenes. It is also a story of found family that is both plot and character heavy and must be read in order to make sense
Wolfsong (Green Creek, #1) by T.J. Klune Ravensong (Green Creek, #2) by T.J. Klune Lovesong (Green Creek #2.5) by T.J. Klune Heartsong (Green Creek, #3) by T.J. Klune Feralsong (Green Creek #3.5) by T.J. Klune Brothersong (Green Creek, #4) by T.J. Klune
Lovesong and Feralsong are both author website freebie but well worth including and Brothersong is the last book due for release in October.

Lastly, whilst not romance stories (although there are some elements in some of the books), have you ever read any Anne Rice? Her Vampire Chronicles series and Lives of the Mayfair Witches trilogy is epic urban fantasy steeped in the paranormal.

I've read many others, some of which are mentioned above and are always mentioned so need no further input from me.
