Tinker Bell and Haley
"Carter." Max said calmly, eyeing the weapon in Doe's hand. "You might want to put the sword away." He managed to stay serious a moment longer, until he thought about the irony of the word 'arms' in this case. A small smile spread on his face because of the unshared joke, but he quickly pushed it out of his mind by reminding himself of the seriousness of the situation.
He put away the sword looking up at Max with a look of resistance and anger and seethed it. "Now put away your sword!"The sword went back into a snake and crawled up her arm. "So what brings you two here?" She asked walking forward towards Max with a beautiful smile.
Max hesitated. It probably wasn't a good idea to tell her the truth, but he didn't know how long she'd been stalking them before she showed herself. "Why do you want to know?" He asked, stalling.
"Because humans are rare here." She said with a look of deep innocent curiosity, she reached out and touched his hand that was practically twice the size of hers. "How many of you are there?" Carter asked slightly relaxing
Max pulled his hand away, uncomfortable with the touch. Then he looked at her, curious. He had always wondered how many there were, though he had always assumed that there wasn't too many, considering his father kept them at bay. But he may have been wrong. There could've been a treaty or something that kept them within their territory.
"My apologies, I just have never seen a human this close before." She said falling to her hips curling her legs beside her cowering looking up at him. Her ears wilting nervously. "We used to have thousands! Then a scary man started killing us off.. All of us.. Now we barley have 50 left in our entire species.. What about humans? How many of you are there?" She asked in a shy voice.
"A lot more than that." Max muttered. He was sure that might've been mentioned in one of his classes, but he almost never paid attention. "Tens of thousands," He said, taking a guess, "At the very least."
"At the very least?!" She said with wide scared eyes "That's a lot of humans!" She said the nervousness and timidness very present in her voice. "max..." Carter whispered seeing the sun starting to set "We need to figure out what we are going to do for the night." Carter said looking at the elf girl with much more acceptance.
"That's overall." Max quickly assured her. "Not all the humans in the kingdom." He looked at Carter, then at the sun, surprised by how close it was to night. Then he looked back at Doe. "Do you know of any place where we could stay for the night?" He asked.
"Yes I do!" She said with a bright smile "the only down side is that you'll have to stay within my tree hut.. We will all be rather close together.. But it is all I have to offer! I'll be back in minuet! I must first tidy up a bit! Ya know I don't have guests all that much it's a little bit messy!" She giggled and started running fading away into nothing but wind "Do you really think we can trust her?" Carter asked
"I don't see why not. Unless she knows what we're here for, but if she did, she probably would've stopped us right off the bat. And I don't think we have much of a choice. I mean, if you want to be out in the open at night, be my guest, but I'm finding shelter." Max said with a grin.
He laughed and agreed "true I didn't think about that.. So while she is gone what is our plan?" He asked getting a sick feeling after saying it knowing what they were actually doing disgusted him
"I don't know." Max said, swallowing. "I don't want to hurt her. Or anyone else." He clenched his teeth at the unfairness of it. Why couldn't his father have sent someone different?
"Well.. What if we just didn't bring her or anyone back?" He asked suddenly perking up thinking this might just work.
"Father promised that he would execute you if we didn't bring anyone back in three days." Max said grimmly.
Carter's hand instantly went to this throat "a-so it's either one of these innocent people or it's me..." He said and looked down "max it's up to you..." He said not sure why but he knew it was true. Max could make the call on his life and he'd be willing to lay down his life for an innocent. It's his job after all.
"I don't know." Max said. "Choice C, none of the above?" He joked, making a half-hearted attempt to lighten the mood a little.
"Your father didn't really allow for a choice c here.." He said with a heavy sigh. Then smiled half heatedly at his friend clapping him on the shoulder "well find a way to do this. We always do." He said with a wiggle if his eyebrows. A flash of red and white then a heavy gust of wind, and poof doe was standing there smiling "you guys ready?!" She asked bouncing on the balls of her feet smiling.
Max was about to respond to Carter, instead jumping at Doe's sudden appearance. Once he'd relaxed, he said, "Yeah. Where is it?"
It's more towards the heart if the forest at human speed it'll take you forever..." She said sighing a bit then smiled and said "we have two options, we can ride your oversized deer or we can elf speed!" She says happily looking from max to carter then back again giggling.
Max was confused for a moment, then realized that she was talking about the horses. Max turns to Carter, small smile playing on his face. Then he turns back to Doe, saying, "I think you already know the answer to that."
"No I really don't thats why I asked you.." She said giggling. Totally confused on why he would say she knew she asked for a reason! Humans were strange creatures. She thought to herself a bright smile painted on her lips.
"Elf speed." Max confirmed. He'd seen -or, rather, not seen- how fast Doe could go, whispering in both their ears without either of them seeing her. He wanted to know how she did it, and how she'd be able to get other people to go that fast too.
"Ohhhh!!" She said giggling "why did you not tell me in the first place?" She giggle "humans are strange silly creatures!" She offered them both her hand "here just run for the first few steps I'll do the rest!" She said with a smile
Max reached out and grabbed her hand, looking up to make sure Carter did the same. Then he started to run, keeping his eyes open, waiting for a change.
Carter took the elfs small hand and started running the she started to sprint practically dragging the two behind her. Then suddenly they seemed to be going extremely solely the trees changed from dead trees to bright evergreens there were many strange looking fuzzing creatures running around in slow motion around them and in their ears Doe's voice sounded like bells "were almost there the stops a little rough with humans but I'll make sure you not hurt." She said
Max looked around at their surroundings, amazed. Then he heard Doe speak and he looked at her in alarm. She couldn't have mentioned that before?
She slowed down and the trees started moving faster and she came to a run and told them to start running a fast as they could and she let go of them and she came to a stop. Carter tripped a little in his own feet but otherwise was okay. He came to a stop and bent over his hands on his knees laughing a bit "that.. Was.. Amazing!" He said laughing.
Max managed to run for a few yards before stumbling over his own feet. He tripped and fell forward, landing on his stomach. Then the got up onto his hands and knees, smiling and trying to take in breath.
She went in and walked through a very open area with a log with a cushion on it, a burning fire in the fire place, she walked into the kitchen area opening a cabinet and pulling out a jar and a woven bandage and walked back over to them "Have a seat."
"I'm nineteen." Says sitting beside him she lightly touched his chin and turned his head towards her. She somewhat crawled into his lap to get a better angel and lightly dabbed her finger into the jar and dabbed it on his cheek gently
Max lets her, swallowing as she put the stinging creme on the cut. He flinched, but didn't pull away.
"It's yarrow. It'll heal your cut, if you don't the 'forbidden forest' as y'all call it trees are posioness to humans if anything reaches your blood stream,it'll hurt you." She says apologizing
She laughed with a bright smile, still sitting on his lap as she finished up and and placed the bandage over it
Max smiles at her and asks, "What's with your epic sword?" He asked, eyeing the tatoo on her forarm.

Carter tensed his breathing became quick.
