It is set in Spain (takes place in a Museum) , is in a 5 book series, and genre is Thriller, if you have any of those tasks. I think there may be one for one word titles, too, maybe, but I do not have it. ;o)

message 9: by Ayacchi (new)

Ayacchi | 1724 comments I haven't read Dan Brown's book this year so it's a great pleasure to join you, if I can get the translation by April

Looks like I have it as a possibility for Set in Spain and Theme is religion (I assumed it would have religious themes, anyway). I will most likely use it for the Spain task.

Hope you can!

message 11: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11629 comments I might join you guys . I haven't read Inferno b7t judging by the first two I don't think that would be a huge problem. What do you reckon?

message 12: by Lucy (last edited Mar 09, 2020 06:40AM) (new)

Lucy Furr (lucyfurr) | 775 comments I was going to say yes, but I feel like with Inferno you might actually get spoiled reading Origins. I guess the whole book could go with out mention. But that would seem weird if it did.

I like to read things in order, that being said, each of these books really could be standalone. I haven’t read Origin yet but judging by the first four, you could pull it off and not be lost.

message 14: by Dominique (new)

Dominique | 1126 comments They do make very small comments on the other books but not that noticeable that it ruins reading them later on.

message 15: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments It is Dom’s bday on 3/10! Wish her well.

message 16: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments Woohoo! Happy birthday, Dom. :)

message 17: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11629 comments Have a great day Dom 😊

I will check if we have Inferno on audio (i can't do print), if we do I will read that first cos I also have a thing about reading series in order. Pete might have that in print. I don't care enough about the integrity of this series that I would buy it for myself on audio so I may still join you.

It's been a while since I did a buddy read with Jannene!

Jannene | 3124 comments Margo wrote: "It's been a while since I did a buddy read with Jannene!”

It has been a while, hasn’t it? I may not be as funny unless there is some romance in the book. We all know how much I love that part.

Because of your suggestion, Dom and I do our Zoom meetings to discuss the book. Fortunately or unfortunately, we never get off before two hours have passed! We could do that here and it would be quite fun to see everyone from various countries!!!

message 23: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11629 comments That might be fun! Glad it's working out for yiu and Dom anyway.

As I remember you love bad sex scenes. Don't recall Brown doing any of those but we could snark about his mickey mouse watch 😅

We're going to pass the 2 hour mark for sure!

message 25: by Cherie (last edited Mar 10, 2020 07:09PM) (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments ROFL @ the Micky Mouse watch!

I think Langdon did have a want-to-be love interest in one of the books, but she would not give up her career and move and neither would he. He lost his watch in one of the books too - anyone remember? He got it back later, I think.

message 26: by Lucy (new)

Lucy Furr (lucyfurr) | 775 comments I think he loses it/gets it back in Inferno.

Wait, is that a spoiler? LOL

For me, it's encouragment to read that book. I hated that bloody watch 😆

message 28: by Lucy (new)

Lucy Furr (lucyfurr) | 775 comments Hahaha. Fair enough.

I might have had one. As a kid. Lol

message 29: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I don't remember the watch, but it's been a while since I've read the previous books in the series.

message 30: by Dominique (new)

Dominique | 1126 comments He has a better love affair with his Mickey Mouse watch then with the ladies.

message 31: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11629 comments ROFL That's for sure Dom :-D

AMEN!! Inferno proved that as it was a bit over the top.

message 34: by Katrisa (new)

Katrisa | 4460 comments I'll join! I am on the lost symbol right now so April would be perfect!

message 35: by Renee (new)

Renee (elenarenee) | 1650 comments I am glad its April. I own the book. I can not find it. My husband thinks I left it at our cottage. We will be getting it ready for the season next weekend. This gives me time to replace it if I have lost it.

message 36: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I hope you find it Renee when you go out to the cottage.

message 37: by Renee (new)

Renee (elenarenee) | 1650 comments I do to. My husband won't even let me have books brought in from the library. He worries a little too much at times. I have been doing several other buddy reads. I have found I real enjoy them. People see things I missed. I hope I do the same for them

message 38: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments Are we still good for April??

message 39: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments Have we got a specific time for the buddy read? Do we want to start after the toppler, say Apr 5th?

message 40: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments Works for me.

message 41: by Lucy (new)

Lucy Furr (lucyfurr) | 775 comments Fine for me as well.

message 47: by Lucy (new)

Lucy Furr (lucyfurr) | 775 comments I have my audiobook loaned from the library. I need to finish another loan that's due back soon, but I should have it done today, so I will start Origins most likely tomorrow, if not tonight.

message 48: by Renee (new)

Renee (elenarenee) | 1650 comments ohhhh I am in I am going to get a late start. I forgot and just started something. I should be with you I a day.

message 49: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I almost did the same thing as Renee. I had downloaded another audiobook and was going to start it today. Downloading Origin now.
