Gianluca B E | 2 comments It was at least 5 years old when It was suggested to me at one of my local libraries. (Sadly shut down before I remembered about it so I can't see the old books I checked out anymore).

I remember it being a series of 3 books, thin paperback books. The librarian said they were set out like the hunger games books (but themes not related), having a part 1 and 2.

The specifics I remember are that the 3rd book was where the grandmother (who was the younger girl in the first 2 books) had moved to australia and the granddaughter felt upset that her name was a "used name" as in it had a backstory related to someone else (possibly one of the grandmothers friends). However it was the grandmother's birthday and despite their being a bushfire warning in place she set up a candle lit birthday celebration underneath a drying up tree that caught fire and started to spread to the neighbour's tree.

That's all I can remember.

(For some reason when writing this my memory goes back to the grandmother being a refugee in Austria as a child during world war 2 , but it could be totally unrelated.)

I think the cover of the book was orange but I'm not too sure.

Any help in finding this book would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
