Hi! Did you get the book on time, @emily? I had the arc, so I have no problem with that, just wanted to know if you got it to start reading tomorrow!
I received a shipping notification today so it should be here by the end of the week hopefully.
Hi! I started reading the first 4 chapters today, and I wanted to follow the schedule but I can wait you if you want. I'm confined home but I have lots of books to read .In general and without spoilers the story is funny but it has a LOT of info. At least on the ARC I have. I probably forget all that info later haha
It’s coming today so I can hopefully start tonight. Yay!
OMG!!! the book got delivered and I looked at the back and saw the glossary and I'm so pleasantly surprised with all the Filipino things and I'm so pumped to start reading.
OMG could you please take a photo(s) of the glossary and send them? In the ARC there are none and even if I can understand it I would like to know it better! Did you start reading? If you want to read more than planned you can, but I'm a bit of a slow reader haha
I'm going to comment some things that happened before Chapter 9 so I won't forget to tell them later.

Thank you a lot! I've got used to the glossary on other books and it was werid having none in this one.There's a LOT of characters here, and I'm not sure what will happen or anything. I'm a bit lost and sometimes I just get lost on the descriptions. But I really like the characters, and for now, Zoe is my favorite <3

So I'm sorry that I'm clearly sort of failing at this buddy read. I will catch up but I just started it and I just finished chapter 2 and I'm hungry. Like starting this before bed was not a good idea cause I'm now craving food.
Also I'm thriving reading this book because of the representation. I already know that I'll be biased in my rating and review because of the Filipino references. I'm just at the beginning and I hope that there's more of that coming cause I'm living for it.

Sorry that I'm incredibly behind on this BR. I just had a lot of uni things to take care of but I 100% agree with what you said. Also I just love all the other fairy tale/mythology references.

I really love Loki, but it still confuses me to use the they pronoun. And I'm enby too but it's weird!

Yeah same in my head whenever Loki is mentioned and they pops up I have to connect those 2 together since I'm not used to reading non-binary people just yet. Also the Banter's group really takes some time to get used to given their quirks.
Also I'm gonna try to finish it by the end of this week (hopefully)
I'm so sad about Ryker, as I said before, it broke my heart a little, but I was kindo of expecting it :( He was too perfect. But his reasons are totally valid.Yep, Zoe is so lovely. I really want to draw her fighting with her whip <3
I think I can read it too by the end of the week, but I won't comment many things because I forgot when they happened and don't want to spoil you ^^'
I love Zoe's whip and Ken's swords Also I kinda like how medieval Avalon is. What I like about the world is that its a mix of the modern world and fairytale worlds though it can be quite jarring when they're talking about WiFi one minute and a gingerbread house in the next.
Ken's final word on chapter 23 are freaking hilarious hahaAnd the same on chapter 29.

Ken is honestly a mood at times 😂I'm on chapter 27 and I can definitely finish the book today.
I got to Ken's line at the end of Chapter 29 and it's hilarious 😂
I finished it!!! It feels like an achievement to finally finish a book. The ending really lends itself well to the upcoming sequels and I honestly want to know what those prophecies mean
Also (view spoiler) And I wish that we got to see more of Tala's agimat because I particularly enjoyed when she can make magical things disappear.
I just finished it too!Yep, it was tiring but I was hooked when they reached the marshes AND they got separated. It's only me that I ship Zoe and Cole?
I really liked that Tala didn't want the sword, and also the many moments where she doesn't know how to feel -about Ryker, about her father.
I dodn't expect at all the firebird was a traitor. I really loved him!
At some point I thought that when Alex disappeared he changed bodies with the firebird but in the end we know he's just an asshole with people c:
About the prophecy... The only one I'm pretty sure is that Nya and Ken will be together (Tala saw Nya as a mermaid, and Ken was told to be married with a sea monster).
The others I'm so confused x.x But I know the end of these series would be chaotic haha

You’re not the only one shipping Zoe and Cole. I mean one of Cole’s prophecies involved frogs and protecting the one he loved so I mean... there’s a budding relationship there.
Also I’m excited for Tala to eventually use the sword as per her own prophecy. And I still have hope for the firebird since the Dame said to trust the firebird despite what it might do in the future to make you think otherwise.
The prophecies really set a new level of intrigue for the later books in this series. Like so much foreshadowing and I just can’t wait to see them unfold.
Also yeah Alex was an ass for majority of the book. Did you notice that whenever Tala refers to Alex it’s always “her best friend”? I swear most of this book is me wondering how they could be best friends if he treats her like this. I feel like we didn’t have enough time to actually see their friendship.

About Tala and Alex... In one chapter they met and in the next they passed a year together. I think they both can be best friends because both were alone on Invierno. Well, Alex had other friends but he spent most time with Tala. So if the author didn't really show the situation, I can believe it.

I agree about that with Tala and Alex.... but still Alex really pissed me off. I get that he was relieving trauma but it would've been better if we got his self-reflection and really understood him. Because all his outburst just made him an pain in the ass to read about.
