Yay! First done, Bash!
Could you please total your points for me?
And could you please tell me which artist the book is about? To me it fits the "read a graphic novel" task, so unless the graphic novel is about an artist, then there's no points there, sorry.

Updated! Thank you. :)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Somehow, I have questions this time around...
1. Does the person looking at you have to have the face straight on? My cover has someone looking at you over her shoulder. (Larger person in the background, not the two looking at each other.) You'll likely have to enlarge it.

2. The book is being made into a movie, but it hasn't been made yet. Are the points for movies that have already been made? https://www.comicsbeat.com/the-prince...
3. My MC drinks something (view spoiler) . I'm not sure if it's whiskey, but it's alcoholic and appears to be a whiskey type drink... "spirits"

2. The book is being made into a movie, but it hasn't been made yet. Are the points for movies that have already been made? - I did say "has", so i will stick with that sorry.
3. My MC drinks something [ and gets very drunk! (hide spoiler)]. I'm not sure if it's whiskey - Doesn't seem to be whisky, sorry. Never seen blue whisky. Looks more like a shot of some kind, but I will rule on the colour.

Thank you.
Re: whiskey - I was guessing by what the guy said - you look "sour", it will lift your "spirits". I figured they were hinting at whiskey. Not trying to change the ruling here, lol. Just pointing out why I questioned it. I didn't even consider the color since the drawings aren't very realistic. I may actually have a shot at the glue stick without it. ;)

★★ Can't recommend it for the story, which really did not make sense, nor the artwork, which was frankly, ugly. (The story summary on GR and the summary on the front piece of the cover made it sound MUCH more attractive than it was.)

RE: "if your book was about an artist" in the bonus points.
My book was a memoir - and she IS an artist Liana Finck, and she is still alive.
scoring updated to add last point March 7, clr
Do I get the point? The only reason I am asking, is because I was thinking more along the lines of Lust for Life.

That was what I was thinking, the Van Gogh example. But your book makes sense as a memoir and is within the feeling of the task. So yay points.

It's always a nice surprise. I forgot that novel comes in to parts, so you got the points. My copy is both in a full book.

I've updated my post. I would have ruled the same way on the annual challenge and have in similar situations. I was just hoping I could be a whiny participant and pull a fast one. Even mods can be bad.

I read Oz: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I was given it as a gift years ago and it has been patiently waiting for me to notice it in my bookshelf. I really enjoyed the illustrations and casual way it has been adapted to fit Marvel.

Before I add up the total, I am wondering about the points for genre. It falls into a few genres as it is written by the bride about her youth, growing up, her dating life and wedding plans and day. Should I choose one that is the highest points or can it be all 3 genres?

That's great :) I picked it because it was a light read and that was just what I needed and I figured I'd get points for a graphic novel and a romance. I got lucky with the other points!
I'll go ahead and edit the original post.

For my graphic novel, I chose to read The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. It's such a good book, and the movie wasn't bad either.

Well never fear! We are going down this rabbit hole together, and there is always safety in numbers.
This March we are reading one of the following:
• A Graphic Novel
• A book about art or an artist
• A book with a famous artwork on the cover
Graphic novels come in all shapes and sizes, ranging a wide selection of topics. The Goodreads genre page is actually really useful for Graphic Novels, check it out here: https://www.goodreads.com/genres/grap.... Libraries have a really good stock of graphic novels these days, so have a look if you haven't before. I was amazed last time I went to my library that there was a whole section of them, and I can tell you ACT Public Libraries are not known for being up with the times.
Books about art, I want the book to discuss art theory, or art history. Or about an artist, as long as it discusses their art meaningfully not as an aside. You will have to explain this to me if it's not obvious. This is a non-fiction task.
Books with a famous artwork on the cover, I want the artwork to be recognisable. And as we all have different ideas of famous, particularly as we are all over the world, please explain and provide a link to the artwork for me so I can see.
Go forth and look at pictures!!
General Rules:
1. The book may be in any format - paperback, ebook, audiobook.
2. The book may be in any genre.
3. The book may NOT be combined with the Year Long Challenge.
4. The book must be read between March 1 – MArch 31, 2020 (based on your local time zone).
5. The challenge is for one book. You may read more books if you chose.
6. Books must be at least 150 pages long.
➽ In the case of ebooks & audiobooks, use the hardcover or paperback edition to determine page length. From the book page, select “all editions”, then select the first paper edition as your guide. If reading an ebook and there is no paper edition, ask for a ruling. If reading an audiobook and there is no paper edition, your book must be a minimum of 6 hours long.
