Looking back over the month of February, what were your stand-out MG reads? Do us all a favor by recommending them here!

One book I read last month was Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy by Gary D. Schmidt, who happens to be one of my favorite authors. His writing is excellent, and the story (which is based on actual historical events) fits into a book category I simply call "important." The story I *enjoyed* the most last month was Nothing Ever Happens Here by Sarah Hagger-Holt, in which a girl struggles with the idea of losing her dad ... because she's going through transition. A transgender family story, handled with honesty and humor.

Carlin (_carlin_) White Bird by R.J. Palacio!

Louie My favorite last month was a new release this year called Clean Getaway by Nic Stone. It's about a boy who goes on a road trip with his grandmother across the southern US as he learns more about her and his family's past and how it influences his present.

Hope you are all well during these strange times.

Critter (bookishcritter) | 20 comments My favorite book I read in February was the Lonely Heart of Maybelle Lane by Kate O'Shaughnessy. It follows the journey of Maybelle Lane as she enters a music contest in the hopes of meeting and getting to know her father. Along the way, she gets to know Mrs. Boggs who is a teacher and Tommy who hangs out with the bullies.
