I am halway in and find it is rather repetitive. So far it is more a portrait of Tirana society in Communist Albania than the portrait of the narrator. Not yet entirely sure what to make of it. It is a quick read to say the least.

I ordered this on 9th Feb with a predicted 3 week order time. No sign of it since, & seems unlikely to arrive before the end of the month now! Hopefully it’ll come eventually & I can retrospectively share my thoughts.

I’m now at the half way mark and thinking this book is weird but rather good. It has me wondering about life in Albania and of course about the author. What’s going on?? I’m liking it very much.
