Her show was a weekly event in our house-absolute belly laughs-"Thanks for the Memories" ;)
Ditto here...Tim Conway would have all of them laughing so hard in tnose skits tbat they would have trouble recovering to continue.
Every night my family would watch together. I tape and watch the reruns every night. It’s still timeless and the funniest thing around! Reminds me of my childhood.I have all three of her books on my TBR. Glad you read it for Purple Sage DG!

"Went With The Wind" is an all time favorite of mine
There are many, the one I have always loved is the sand pail one. obviously I would be drawn to this. She goes to therapy, and eventually it winds its way around to the sand pail.

Outside of the Went with the Wind skit, my favorites are the send up they did on Airport 75 (in fact, every skit they did on a plane with Carol as a flight attendant) and the one with Carol as Queen Elizabeth and the Tim Conway as the hollow soldier.
Conway was a natural. It was so obvious sometimes that he was going off script to just get a reaction-and how he could keep such a straight face-I loved all of them!
Love the series of the Hollow soldier. One of my favorites is whenever Tim Conway is doing his thing, but has to be.... The Royal Tortuer. She talks about the Sand Pail skit - really. I also loved Steve Lawrence. Some of those were timeless.
Oh, I loved Tim Conway as the old dentist when he kept injecting himself with "novocaine" ... his arm asleep, his leg asleep, etc ... and Harvey Korman completely cracking up in the chair as the patient.

My favorite parts of the show were the skits - and the Q&A portion at the beginning of each show. So it's not really surprising that I loooooved this book. Because that's what this book is. It's Carol telling one short story after another. Stories about her life and stories about the show. Hilarious and heartfelt and poignant stories.
I loved hearing about the beginnings of the show (which almost didn't happen). How Harvey Korman, Tim Conway and Vicki Lawrence all became regulars. But also about her friendships with many of her famous guest stars - Julie Andrews, Lucille Ball and others. And although she doesn't get deep into her own personal life, we hear some of the most important stories - such as the story of her daughter Carrie Hamilton, who passed away far too young.
Not surprisingly, I listened to the audio version of the book - which I highly recommend because of course Carol reads it herself. I got my copy from the library, but plan to buy a copy because this is a book that I will definitely listen to again - and again
