I read this book probably 5 years ago or longer, and it wasn't new at the time.
A group of humans finds themselves waking up on an alien planet, and find out it is being farmed and harvested automatically without supervision. The harvest is picked up periodically by space ship.
They are trying to survive, possibly getting of the planet, which is complicated by the machines seeing them as part of their herd.
I don't remember how the humans got on the planet, and I'm pretty sure this is book 1 of a series of books.
