March 2020 Mini Challenge - Erin Go Browsing ...
Begins: 01March20 / Ends: 31March20

.

Your challenge is to find the following words/phrases in the TEXT of the books you are reading this month.

You are NOT restricted to one book / one word; you may find as many of the words/phrases in a single book as you like. If you find all the words in one book you are really lucky!

Word list
Catholic
gold
green
parade
Patrick or Patricia
pot
potato(es)
rainbow
shamrock
snake

===========================================

Unless a variation is specified above, words must match exactly, with the following exceptions: I will accept a plural/singular version, or differences in spelling between British and American English (e.g. honor or honour). But those are the ONLY deviations allowed. So if you are looking for "gold" - I will NOT allow "golden."

All books used must be a minimum of 100 pages long - Page length determined by HARDCOVER 1st edition. If there is no Hardcover, then the most popular paperback governs page #.

You may read in any format - text, audio or e-book. If using audio or e-book I suggest using Amazon.com's "look inside" feature to get a page number for your quote.

You MUST finish the book before you can claim credit for finding the word/phrase.

EXAMPLE of a successful post:
Finger - The Summer Wives ✔ - 15May19 - pg 47 - "...instant before her fingers opened, I saw..."

You MUST finish the book before you can claim credit for completing the task.

If you'd like to be recognized as finishing, the challenge, please post a new comment alerting me to your finish. I do not get notifications when you edit your original post.

Have Fun!

Sheila | 532 comments Count me in!

Catholic--Laura--7 Mar 2020--pg. 68--The bedroom door opened and there was Laura in a long loose sort of gold-colored robe that made her look like a saint on the window of a Catholic church.

gold--Everything I Know About Love--3 Mar 2020--pg. 105--It is a feeling I grew very used to--panicked and throaty; a sense that everyone in London was having a good time other than me; that there were pots of experiential gold hidden on every street corner and I wasn't finding them; that one day I was going to be dead so why bring any potentially perfect and glorious day to a premature end with an early night.

green--Everything I Know About Love--3 Mar 2020--pg. 201--When she slices into the cake, the colour of the sponge will reveal the sex: pink for a girl, blue for a boy, and a green for a bit of both.

parade--Laura--7 Mar 2020--pg. 121--I am trying to think clearly of all that has happened in the last few days, to remember the facts and set them upon the horses and send them out in a neat parade like sales arguments for Jix or Lady Lilith.

Patrick or Patricia--Everything I Know About Love--3 Mar 2020--pg. 180--I was in a bedroom with a man who could very well be Patrick Bateman.

pot--Everything I Know About Love--3 Mar 2020--pg. 119--For years in my twenties, I wandered around feeling like I was about to be accused of something terrible, like someone could very easily march up to me and say, "YOU'RE the dick who drank Jo Morgan Pear and Freesia bath oil in a pint glass at my house party for a dare--you owe me 42 pounds OI! TOSS POT! I still can't believe you got off with my boyfriend outside the Morningside Crescent Sainbury's!"--and I would have to nod reverently and say, "Yes, I can't recall that specifically, but I shall take your word for it and I'm sorry."

potato(es)--The Growing Season--10 Mar 2020--pg. 159--In Australia, they eat pumpkin as much as we potatoes.

rainbow--In a Blink--8 Mar 2020--pg. 45--It shimmered with the colors of the rainbow.

shamrock--Laura--7 Mar 2020--pg. 165--One of Quentin's pals met him at the door of the Shamrock Ballroom one night and pulled a knife.

snake--Everything I Know About Love--3 Mar 2020--pg. 146--Smiling along as they play-fought on the sofa or pretending to play snake on my phone while they snogged in a corner of the room.

I'm done!

If you can't find the name without the possessive by month's end, sure I'll accept it.

I've deleted messages that no longer pertain. But please take the time to review the threads and delete and duplicate posts you may have inadvertently made during the "wonkiness."
