Just finished rereading Dorothy L. Sayers's debut mystery featuring Lord Peter Wimsey, Whose Body?. Its been more than 10 years since I last read it and I still found the story as wonderful as ever.

This march broke the back of the Confederate war effort. But enslaved people fleeing plantations and attaching themselves to Sherman's army played a vital role in the success of the march. Just picked out of my stash Moonflower Murders by Anthony Horowitz. Of course, I have watched the PBS TV series but I also think I will get a lot out of reading the book.

And I read the first book, Magpie Murders in the series, as well as The House of Silk, the first in his Holmes series, and The Word is Murder, from his other series - Hawthorne & Horowitz. I rated all highly.

My Goodreads friend Heather Day Gilbert is a writer I've often mentioned here, and a favorite for both me and my wife. As of yesterday, we started reading her newest novel, Queen of Hearts (2024). Though she's not a new writer in the mystery genre, as this book is a stand-alone work of psychological suspense, it's a new departure for her; she likes to read novels in this subgenre, but hasn't published one of her own until this one.
