I just got a notice from my library that my text copy is ready to be picked up. I will be ready to start on March 7th.

Excellent! I started my book for my RL book club a little early and will be ready for this one on the 7th too.

Is everyone still planning to start this one today? I didn't realize the 7th was a Saturday. I often don't read as much on weekends. I can read some though and I'l catch up Monday if I fall behind.

I had another buddy read that also started yesterday and I needed to finish one of my other books.

Ch 5(view spoiler)[ Wow they sure didn't let Jackson last long! I wonder who his wife is and why he didn't mention her before. I know there is still chemistry between him and Jane, but it's pretty rude of him not to mention that he's married. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 21(view spoiler)[ In this book I get more of the sense of how much living in their world just wears on them. It just seems exhausting to constantly be vigilant and know that there are ever-growing hordes of the dead on your heels. I mean, I guess that living under the constant stress would make for some weird coping mechanisms - but all the towns in these books are so creepy! What on earth is Gideon doing? I just don't know what to think about him. (hide spoiler)]

I have a hard time believing they are really going to kill Jane off - so I hoping maybe some part of the vaccine Gideon gave her back in Summerland actually works and she doesn't go full on zombie? I’m in chapter 11. (view spoiler)[ I can’t believe that stupid Gideon boy wants to keep inoculating people. He has no evidence it works! Sue and Callie are talking to Jane at the jail window. First though, since when did a cot become a straw filled mattress? Second, it just makes me roll my eyes at some of the words this author makes up! “Conversate”???? Third, Jane is telling these people that a huge horde was right on their heels, and NO ONE is in the least bit excited. Jane is still bawling her eyes out over Jackson and The Sheriff is snoring in the office chair with his feet up on the desk. WHO is standing guard? Oh, and I want to know what homesteader had time to plant potatoes - out on the prairie? (hide spoiler)]

A buddy read is more than everyone starting the book on the same day.

Ch 22-25 (view spoiler)[ Yes, I was right, Jane lived. Of course she did. A bounty hunter, hmm. I don’t like Callie. I still like Jackson though. Too funny that he can change his clothes. I really am more interested in Katheryn’s story. I’m glad she has kept Lily safe all this time. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 26-28 (view spoiler)[ I can’t say that I like Jane’s turn of events but I am liking Katherine’s prospects. I can understand why Jane has become so hardened to killing but Callie is right, it can be doing her no good emotionally. I like that Callie has stuck by Jane and took care of her after she was bitten. I wasn’t sure what kind of a person she was really going to be. The ghost of Jackson is just too weird. I know it is just me, but I cannot help but put something down.
I am at page 500 tonight. I finished ch 29-44. (view spoiler)[I cannot tell if the story is getting any better or I am just looking forward to it being over. I definitely do not like Jane's dark side, but I understand it. I was sorry to see Callie go and I wished her all the best. I thought the conditions in San Francisco were horrible and I was looking forward to seeing how the wagon train was going to go. I really was almost sorry when Jane found and joined them, but I am resigned to her and Katherine to being together at the end, what ever it is. And last but not least - OMG I hate Daniel Redfern! I finished the book tonight. I liked the author's note and added two book titles to my TBR list.
