Trisha (trishabisen) | 2389 comments Haha, Gm to you Tayo! I read the introduction yesterday and will hopefully go through chapter 1 tonight. How much have you already read? And what do you feel about it? I liked the intro, it defined shock therapy and disaster capitalism, both new topics for me.

Tayo Reads (tayoreads) I thought the intro was awesome and that it was as transparent as one could be, regarding the hands on experience that Naomi endured. I will be done with chapters one and two today.

Trisha (trishabisen) | 2389 comments Hey Tayo, I'm really sorry for not updating you with my progress. I've been lagging behind and have done just 3 chapters so far. I'll try to buckle up and read as much as I can. How is it going with you?

Tayo Reads (tayoreads) It’s going great be encouraged and dig in deep, this good read has allowed me to pay attention to what’s happening with us as a whole. Very interesting read.

Trisha (trishabisen) | 2389 comments The book indeed is an interesting read! How much have you read, Tayo?

And thank you for your encouragement! 😊

Trisha (trishabisen) | 2389 comments Tayo, I'm done with precisely 50% of the book and I'm in the middle of the 11th chapter. I love how Naomi divides each chapter country-wise and not all of it bundled together. The chronological order is also quite helpful! It's a shock to see how learned people/politicians fell into the traps of the Chicago School Boys. In fact I am utterly disgusted reading the role of the World Bank, and other similar institutions that forced countries to adopt the Washington consensus.
