Read this in one day. Loved it even more the second time around and am anxious for the second installment, A Curse of Gold due to be released in November, I believe.

I could not have expressed it better, Lindsay! (view spoiler)[The male characters were just as complex and multi-faceted as we typically get with female characters. I hadn't considered that aspect of her writing/this book until your comment! I am getting a copy of her second book, Tiger Queen (unrelated to A Touch of Gold, this weekend. I wonder if it will have similarly fleshed out male characters? (hide spoiler)] Now I'll be watching for that!

I appreciated the fact that the (view spoiler)[female characters were just as adventurous as the male characters, and yet were portrayed realistically in many ways. (hide spoiler)] Sullivan's characterization is what really makes this novel, in my opinion. It is not just action and adventure...
