Has a daughter from the first marriage that is named Emily, and is unsure of the parentaged until the new wife proves it by the birthmark on their knees. Basically they fall in love, and then trouble ensues from the former mistress, both new wife/daughter disappear while new wife is pregnant, then he finds them. I think it was released between 1990-2000? Not sure of when I read it exactly.

Tommie, the hero's first wife dies, then he's jilted by who? Who does the ship maker want the hero to marry - and why does the hero follow through?

SeekzieReads | 2 comments the wife sleeps with his best friend and dies in childbirth, i think. his daughter, which I think if I remember correctly is named Jane. I don't remember why the hero follows through on it.
