Don't get me wrong, Ian IS a great guy...but I just love Jared, he's so hardcore and takes care of everybody.

Yeah, that makes me think Jared's more manly than Ian. The scene where Ian was crying and throwing himself at Wanda when he found out she was planning to give Mel's body back, it was sweet but it also made him seem a little whiny and weak.
I didn't even notice our names were similar! Catherine, Kate and Kat! Lol, that's pretty weird! :D

I started this book last night and about 75 pages into it, it is kinda disappointing me. It's not pulling me in or exciting me. I expected a lot more from Steph. I almost don't want to finish it, do yiou guys think it's worth finishing?

I've heard it's worth finishing, that just the first 100 or so pages aren't the best.. so I think you should keep going, and if you do finish it, tell me how you like it?

I think it does get more exciting. Once she finds Jared again, it gets better.

Did you find the first couple chapters a complete bore?

Not the first time I read it because everything was new and exciting! But when I read it the second time, I couldn't wait till she found the others and I think it took too long for her to do so. It was slightly boring but not unbearably so :)

Ok, I'm skipping over 142 comments but I have to say I just recently finished this book.

I also have to say that I really enjoyed it. I was so surprised. I don't know how people (my aunt) can think that this book is boring. Yes, the main hub of the book is in a cave but the storyline was everywhere.

I can't wait for Meyer's to write the sequals! Hurry up and write.

I think a lot of people probably don't make it past the first 100 pages or so, because I've heard a lot of them say they can't get into it because it starts off too slow. Which is a shame, because I thought it was really good!

I didn't, not the first time anyway. Because I didn't know what would happen, it kept me guessing so I thought it was quite easy to read past the first 100 pages and after that I loved it even more. But the second time reading it, I could see why some people wee bored, because I knew what would happen and I wanted to skip the start and go straight to the good parts that came later on in the book!

Yeah I wanted to do that but I can't. I always have to read a book from start to finish even if some parts are boring.

Yes, I liked the twilight series when i read it, and then I read the host and it really suprised me. The writing was so much more mature than that of the twilight saga, and I thought it was an excellent book. I have also heard that some people get bored with it in the beginning, (though I don't recall feeling that) but if you can get past that you will really enjoy the book! in a way it is very similar to the uglies series, yet extremly different and if you read it you might get why I say that. enjoy :)

I haven't found the start boring.. i'm about 70 pages in.. the first bit was confusing though. but now i understand and am waiting to get more into the book.. and meet Jared. :P

Yeah, I remember I was pretty desparate to meet Jared my first time reading it too! I love him more than Ian!
