Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I actually could never get into that series either. I hated the MC. :(

Selena annoyed me sometimes, but I was able to push through it. I can see why some people cant deal with her.

Courtney | 16038 comments We only need a book for 2009/2010 and we will have another bingo.

message 104: by Courtney (last edited Mar 05, 2020 08:33PM) (new)

Courtney | 16038 comments I only have one book set for that period, but I am waiting to hear back about a buddy for it so I dont think I can get one at the moment.

message 105: by Claire (new)

Claire Chibi | 1826 comments I cringed so hard in Throne of Glass when Celaena did something incredibly stupid and then it was never brought up again. Like you could not convince me that this girl is meant to be a dangerous badass assassin, she's clearly way too easy to kill.

The series has gotten much better though, the 4th book in particular I thought was excellent.

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I’m reading Bone Crossed which is set sometime around 2009/2010 I believe on my iPod so I’m not 100% sure.

Also I failed to do my reviews. Sorry guys! Definitely tomorrow!

message 107: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Bone Crossed was pub 2009. Just checked.

Heading off to bed now as it’s almost 6 am. Need a couple of hours at least lol. Will prob check back in a few more times before I fall asleep. ^_^

message 108: by Claire (new)

Claire Chibi | 1826 comments I'm being lazy with my reviews too hehehe, I'll try to get them up this weekend!

Jamie (TheRebelliousReader) (iambrucewayne) In Throne of Glass the characters kept telling us how awesome and bad ass Celena is instead of showing us. And she was constantly doing stupid things. LOL. But the books get significantly better from there and I prefer it over the ACOTAR series. I have some very unpopular opinions on that series.

message 110: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 16038 comments Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass, #3) by Sarah J. Maas was the worst book for me. I dont know why I couldn't get into it.

message 111: by Claire (last edited Mar 05, 2020 11:03PM) (new)

Claire Chibi | 1826 comments Right Jamie? Like up until at least Heir of Fire I was like 🙄 yeah ok sure

Heir of Fire took me a while to get into and get used to since it was such a big change.

So far I feel about equal on both series but prefer ACOTAR only because it's not so damn long 😂

Jamie (TheRebelliousReader) (iambrucewayne) Courtney wrote: "Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass, #3) by Sarah J. Maas was the worst book for me. I dont know why I couldn't get into it."

Same! That's my least favorite in the series. The next book, Queen of Shadows is absolutely fantastic though and is my favorite Maas book. I've read that book alone so many times that my copy is messed up. LOL.

@Claire Yes! While HoF isn't my fave it is where Celena starts to really come into her own finally. Realistically this series would've ended at book one because Celena would've died from all the stupid things she did. 😂

Jamie (TheRebelliousReader) (iambrucewayne) So, I have a book for 1980 that I will be done with tomorrow and a book for 1930 that I will get to this weekend. Then all we would need is a book for 1929 and that would be another line completed for us.

I don't know if I could get myself to the 4th book. I liked the novellas but the actual series I'm not keen on. I do own all the books though so I guess eventually I'll read them.

Maybe that's what threw me off? I honestly don't even remember/know what I didn't like. It just rubbed me wrong when I was reading it. I do know I didn't like her arrogance/confidence.

message 116: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 16038 comments I finished another 2019 book today. I am hoping to get a little further in A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas plus start Bossman by Vi Keeland and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde .

I also have a buddy that starts today for Sinful Longing (Sinful Nights, #3) by Lauren Blakely , but not sure I will be able to start it today.

message 117: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (last edited Mar 06, 2020 07:33PM) (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Same goals as yesterday basically. Going to add percentages though so I know if I made any progress.

Bone Crossed (Mercy Thompson, #4) by Patricia Briggs 25%

Bonus Goals:
Read 25 pages of my French HP book. (location #1189)
Listen to some of my HP 2 book. (7h 15 min left) [want to get to 6 hour)
Read some manga. Probably [bookcover:Skip Beat!, Vol. 01|282282] --- Skip Beat!, Vol. 24 by Yoshiki Nakamura

Courtney | 16038 comments I saw that. I though it posted mine twice. I got confused for a second.

message 120: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 16038 comments So I am 32% into ACOMAF. Im going to listen to it while doing some chores around the house and see how far I can get. My buddy it about 10 chapters ahead so it would be nice to catch up to her.

I've done that before. lol.

message 122: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments So I need to ask Sarah about my manga before I add it. I'm hoping that I don't have to review each manga individually and can use the 3 in 1 editions but then I'm not sure about the pub dates.

message 123: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Awesome. I love certain audios now. They are really useful. :)

message 124: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments So I think I might have found what I need to do manga wise. I'll be a bit tricky but I'll try it.

*Note I have not read any of these yet. Want to figure it out first.

etc

message 125: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I can also do the opposite if we need more 2010's books.

message 126: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 16038 comments We need all those years so I dont think it matters much where you put them.

message 127: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Okay. Well, I'll wait till I read them then and then post them as needed. We might get more books put in by then.

message 128: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (last edited Mar 06, 2020 03:02PM) (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I'm also going to be trying to read some other manga I can use those for the years I don't use the others since all of them are set from 2000-ish to 2020

message 129: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I found a trick for enjoying reading my HP in French. I do better when I read it aloud to someone. ^_^

message 130: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Goals for today.

Bone Crossed (Mercy Thompson, #4) by Patricia Briggs 31% hoping to get to 50% or maybe finish it.

The Cerulean (The Cerulean Duology, #1) by Amy Ewing start and try to get to 10-ish percent. I'd really like 25% but it's almost 500 pages long so that's a lot.

Bonus Goals:
Read 25 pages of my French HP book. loc 1208 or 25% (Again probably too many but I read like 3 pages yesterday[!])
Listen to some of my HP 2 book. 7h 14 min to go Want to get to 6 h 30 min today.
Read some manga. Probably Skip Beat!, Vol. 01 by Yoshiki Nakamura --- Skip Beat!, Vol. 24 by Yoshiki Nakamura (started Skip Beat 1!)

message 131: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments So I didn't get as much done as I would like but I at least got a little done.

Goals for today:

Bone Crossed (Mercy Thompson, #4) by Patricia Briggs at 32% goal 50% or finished
The Cerulean (The Cerulean Duology, #1) by Amy Ewing at 0% goal 10%

Bonus Goals:
Harry Potter à l'école des sorciers by J.K. Rowling at 26% goal 27 or 28%
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Harry Potter, #2) by J.K. Rowling at 7h 14 min goal 6h 30 min
Skip Beat!, Vol. 02 by Yoshiki Nakamura - Skip Beat!, Vol. 24 by Yoshiki Nakamura at done #1 goal finish 2,3,4

message 132: by Courtney (last edited Mar 08, 2020 05:45PM) (new)

Courtney | 16038 comments Hey sorry I have been really busy this weekend. I am hoping to finish a book tonight, but not sure yet. It all depends on how nice my husband and daughter want to be lol

message 133: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 16038 comments I will definitely be able to finish a book tonight. I might also be able to start another book. It depends on how I feel.

message 134: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 16038 comments So if we change Izzys review to 09- 10 we can have a bingo right now. Should we do it or just leave it? Right know we have 3 for 1960+, and I dont think we really need 3 for that. Just wanna know how everyone is thinking.

message 135: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I think we should switch it.

Jamie (TheRebelliousReader) (iambrucewayne) Yeah, I think switching it would be a good idea.

message 137: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 16038 comments Okay I just asked for the change.

message 138: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 16038 comments So I have a little over an hour left of The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde (hoping to finish it sometime today), and am 43% into A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas .

message 139: by Courtney (last edited Mar 09, 2020 09:30AM) (new)

Courtney | 16038 comments Also should I use The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde for 1994 still considering we dont have any books for that area or should I do the >1929 so we can get a bingo again?

message 140: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Guys if we move Jamie's book roots from '80 to 2014 with this edition https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

and Ashleigh's book The Price of Salt to '97-'98 with this edition - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

then as soon as Claire posts her Neuromancer we will have another line done.

message 141: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Okay I think I found a way to get another line soon but I think it will be too confusing to explain it here. I wish I could show you the graph I made on OneNote. But basically we would have The Picture of Dorian Gray in the 1929 spot. My Cousin Rachel in 93-94 spot. The ABC Murders will stay in the 05-06 spot. Roots will be moved to 2014 like above. And then I'n not sure if Sex, Not Love will count for another line or if we need another 2020 book. If we do we have ACOMAF.

Now not all these books are done but they are CR. So we could have our first diagonal line from the top left to the bottom right. Plus the two lines for 80-85 to 2019 and the 86-90 to 2020

I can also see a line forming for 86-90 to 2016. We just need 2012 if my perception isn't messing me up again.

message 142: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Oh and I just realized if we move the Picture of Dorian Gray we would got the top line too!

Then we would just need 91-92/01-02/03-04/2011/2012/2013 and we would be done the whole square!

message 143: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Oh and 2013 would also give us the middle up and down. OMG. We are getting close!

message 144: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments So I didn't get as much done as I would like but I at least got a little done.

Goals for today:

Bone Crossed (Mercy Thompson, #4) by Patricia Briggs at 32% goal 50% or finished

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Harry Potter, #2) by J.K. Rowling at 7h 1 min goal 6h 30 min
Skip Beat!, Vol. 02 by Yoshiki Nakamura - Skip Beat!, Vol. 24 by Yoshiki Nakamura at done #1 goal finish 2,3,4

message 145: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 16038 comments I wont be finishing ACOMAF for awhile so we need to keep Sex, not love there or we will lose the line. I dont wanna do to much moving because I dont wanna make Sarah mad. Lol

I am more then willing to post PODG in the first spot to finish that line though. It just sucks because most of my TBR is 2016 to 2019.

message 146: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 16038 comments Sex not love will only work for 18- 20 anyways. Your moving things wasnt confusing I just dont know if Sarah will allow us to move that much. Lol

message 147: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I doubt she would be mad but we can stall for a while if need be. I just like to plan ahead in case we get desperate. :)

Same. I really want to read those 1929 books but I'm starting to doubt I'll get to them. And as far as I know, there are no manga from that late. Particularly online which is where I read most of them. :(

message 148: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Courtney wrote: "Sex not love will only work for 18- 20 anyways. Your moving things wasnt confusing I just dont know if Sarah will allow us to move that much. Lol"

I think the only thing that would change is the grid. I'm not involved in scores though so I can at least ask and maybe if we do it slowly she won't mind.

message 149: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I think our main focus going forward should be to not double up unless it's literally the only spot it will fit. That way we won't have to move much. :)

message 150: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I think I found a way to only move one or two things. Let me check first.
