I was skeptical at first, especially the way it's written. Not that it is in first person POV, that's what made me want to read it. Not that it was written in present tense, although I usually dislike it, in this particular book, I didn't even realize it was until I was almost done with the book. That tells me it was super well done. The thing that surprised me is that the author went against everything taught, and did it so well that I actually enjoyed it.

First, the 'I' word. I have never read a book in first person POV where an author would start most of his sentences with the pronoun and get away with it the way he did. Yet, it fits the protagonist and the story so well that I wouldn't see it written any other way.

The second oddity about the book is that paragraphs are short. And I do mean short. Most of them are no longer than one or two sentences. Again, it fits well with the style so no complains about it on my part.

The story itself is interesting. I love the way the author shows us how the protagonist thinks: his action/reaction to what he sees. After all, he's been trained to react and to act. I can't say much more without revealing spoilers but he is one assassin I couldn't push myself to hate.

I would recommend this book to any one who wants a fun and quick read that is different from your every day read.

Book two: I am the Mission continues where the first of the series left off. We follow our favorite assassin as he receives his next mission. The story is written in the same efficient manner. The author does a good job in keeping the readers on their toes. We wonder, with the protagonist, what is happening, who can be trust (or not), who is behind some of the events. I found myself thinking about the book every time I needed to put it aside for real life stuff.

Daniel (his new name for this mission) is not perfect, but he's not a heartless assassin either. In this sequel, he reveals a softer side of himself.

I am the Mission is a quick and fun read. If you liked I am the Weapon, you should love its sequel. I can't wait to read the next in the series.

Book three is coming out in June 2015.

Every book so far as its proper ending. No dreaded cliffhangers.
