Chapter 4 (view spoiler)[ Wow! She is one nasty piece of work! I hate her and also love her her! This is such a great start. And damn the Shadow King is easily seduced. I mean he refuses to go onto the dance floor, but when Alessandra comes in wearing black, showing off legs and ignoring him and that interests him! Surely others have used the same tactics to seduce him? Anyways, this is a very enjoyable beginning! This books moves at a fast pace, too! (hide spoiler)]

THIS WAS SO AWESOME!?!?!?!?!??
(view spoiler)[I loved it. I just loved it. It was nowhere near grey, but I loved it. These were two bloodthirsty people who fell in love with each other, and I just loved it.

Also, I was right! Mostly.....about Leandros......and I loved that last scene when he comes for her, and that tiny bit of miscommunication......I JUST LOVED IT!!!!! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 24 (view spoiler)[ What?? She murdered someone! I know this is a story about two particularly twisted people (maybe not Kallias so much), but still! Surely it is a bit excessive to murder someone for such an act. It was a really nasty move on that guy's part, but he didn't deserve to get murdered for it. Lol. Rant over. Finished (view spoiler)[ Yay! I loved this book. Never saw Leandros being Kallias brother! I did wonder if the brother would be in fact alive and that he was the assassin or the bandit. I do have a few problems with the story, though. What happened with Orrin? That was a very strange plot line. There wasn't enough interaction with him or him as the bandit for me to really care. I was kind of like, "oh okay. That's a bit boring!" And ahhhhh... Kallias literally laughed off the fact that she murdered someone. He really shouldn't have been surprised at finding the poison (that was a heart breaking scene by the way). He's a bit of a bad person. lol! I feel most sorry for Hector's (think it was spelt differently) father! I just feel like maybe this whole story needed to be more spaced out. I like faced paced books but this one needed more complexity in its secondary villains. I almost feel that it needed another book. Maybe it could have ended on Kallias banishing him and then created a second book where she is struggling with the loss of Kallias. I still loved this book. It was very enjoyable, I laughed quite a bit (and cringed at some parts) and the characters were all very good. I really like Alessandra, Leandros, Kallias and all of Allessandra's friends too! Lol this turned out to be the length of a review! (hide spoiler)]

Same, this being a standalone was pretty disappointing.....and there was quite a lot packed into it!

I was actually a little let down with the (view spoiler)[ Orrin storyline being the masked bandit. It's like he was discovered and then boom, that was over. They never really talked to him about it, the author just solved it and moved on (hide spoiler)]
