Diane ~Firefly~ | 1512 comments Laura (water sign)

Here are your picks. I hope you enjoy them.

The Fire Signs
Pick a book with fire on the cover; has an artistic/creative cover (your interpretation); a book with a smart character or a character who is physically strong or fit

We have fire with Fool's Gold by Jon Hollins or a very fit character as Verity tries to buck the family tradition of helping cryptids (monsters) and be a ballroom dancer instead in Discount Armageddon by Seanan McGuire.

Pick a book that starts with an A, L or S; published in March, July or November; a book with a character who is a leader/head of something; a character who is stubborn; or a character who travels

Two stubborn lead characters who are fated for each other with A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole. Or check out the dystopian society where companies run the states and the heir to the most prominent was killed and brought back as a replicant in Replica by Jenna Black.

Fool's Gold (The Dragon Lords #1) by Jon Hollins Discount Armageddon (InCryptid, #1) by Seanan McGuire A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, #1) by Kresley Cole Replica (Replica, #1) by Jenna Black

Earth Signs
Pick a book showing 'earth' on the cover (outdoor/scenic view, no people); has a realistic cover (your interpretation); a book with a character who is practical; or a character considered loyal

Now You See Me by Chris McGeorge has a beautiful outdoor scene on the cover and sounds intriguing. Or check out a loyal cop in the near future solving murders while dealing with personal issues and falling in love in Naked in Death by J.D. Robb.

Pick a book that starts with a T, V or C; published in April, August or December; a book with a character who gardens or cooks; a character who is shy; or a book about family

We have a pirate book Clockwork Pirate by Lyn Gala starting with a C or a book that is like James Bond set in urban fantasy and with family instead of an agency in The Man with the Golden Torc by Simon R. Green.

Now You See Me by Chris McGeorge Naked in Death (In Death #1) by J.D. Robb Clockwork Pirate by Lyn Gala The Man with the Golden Torc (Secret Histories, #1) by Simon R. Green

Air Signs
Pick a book with evidence of wind or clouds on the cover; with at least 2 people on the cover; a book with a social gathering; or with a character who gives or asks for advice

We both have this on our TBR, so give it a shot - The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang. Or check out this intriguing YA mystery book that is trying to solve a very old murder at a boarding school (lots of social gatherings) in Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson (just be aware this is a trilogy and so it isn't solved in this book).

Pick a book that starts with G, L or A; published in May, September or January; a book with a character considered friendly/good-natured; a character who likes to be outdoors; or a character who is helpful to others

Gwenvael the Handsome is super friendly character in What a Dragon Should Know by G.A. Aiken. Or check out a book that starts with the cliché woke up married in Vegas to a rock star but takes it beyond that in Lick by Kylie Scott

The Kiss Quotient (The Kiss Quotient, #1) by Helen Hoang Truly Devious (Truly Devious, #1) by Maureen Johnson What a Dragon Should Know (Dragon Kin, #3) by G.A. Aiken Lick (Stage Dive, #1) by Kylie Scott

Water Signs
Pick a book with water on the cover or as the setting; that is tagged mystery; or a book with a character who is mysterious (your interpretation)

Lots of water on this cover - Surrendered to the Sea by Dessa Lux. Or check out a PI following the family footsteps in The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz (be aware the style is very different - tons of footnote referencing)

Pick a book that starts with C, S or P; published in June, October or February; a book with a character who is artistic (in any way); a character considered brave; or has a know it all character

This sounded intriguing and I'm certain the characters will be brave - The Supes by Matthew Pritt. Or check out a YA urban fantasy where a thief is forced to become a bodyguard in a world that seems mob-like but power is based on magic in Cold Burn of Magic by Jennifer Estep.

Surrendered to the Sea by Dessa Lux The Spellman Files (The Spellmans #1) by Lisa Lutz The Supes by Matthew Pritt Cold Burn of Magic (Black Blade, #1) by Jennifer Estep

🔥 NEW: Tinderbox– Fire on cover – This is new to both of us as it’s on my PIFM list from Becca for March and I’ve already requested it from my library. LMK if you wanna buddy read!
Ex Games by Stella Rhys Tinderbox (Flashpoint, #1) by Rachel Grant
🔥 TBR: Ticket Home– Both characters travel and both seem pretty darn stubborn! Think I have this on my TBR too!
🔥 TBR: The One You Want– Published March, wealthy/leader character, stubborn character
Ticket Home by Serena Bell The One You Want (The Original Heartbreakers, #0.5) by Gena Showalter

Earth Signs ~ Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn
🌎 TBR: Driving into the Sun– Outdoor scenic view on cover
🌎 TBR: Just You– Realistic cover, MC sounds practical/loyal
Driving into the Sun by Dev Bentham Just You (Second Chances, #3) by Mari Carr
🌎 TBR: Three Ways to Wicked– Begins with T and published in December
🌎 NEW: Beauty and the Mustache– Character knits (works with hands) and family very much involved (including masturbating hillbilly brothers! OMG LOL) – This book totally crossed all my Ts and dotted all my Is and while I’m not overly fond of the whole series (it has ups and downs), I definitely loved this one! And a hero who writes poetry? SWOON! Also I think Ashley (the MC) is a Virgo…. LOL!
Three Ways to Wicked by Jodi Redford Beauty and the Mustache (Knitting in the City, #4; Winston Brothers, #0.5) by Penny Reid

Air Signs ~ Gemini, Libra and Aquarius
💨 TBR: Daniel & Erik’s Super Fab Ultimate Wedding Checklist– 2 on cover, wedding social gathering and likely someone asks someone for advice! (Also the March Monthly challenge includes a wedding and LGBT category and sounds fun!)
💨 NEW: Enemies– Vaguely looks like clouds on the cover, social gatherings (sporting events/college parties), advice is given/received – Just read this one in Feb and LOVED it! The poor heroine goes through a LOT and the hero is not what I expected! It’s also a KU book if you do those.
Daniel & Erik’s Super Fab Ultimate Wedding Checklist by K.E. Belledonne Enemies by Tijan
💨 TBR: Handcuffs and Leather– Published in May and MC is a cop so he’s helpful to others
💨 TBR: Winning Back His Wife– Character likes to be outdoors
Handcuffs and Leather (Rawlings Men #1) by Kim Dare Winning Back His Wife (Camp Firefly Falls, #1) by Zoe York

Water Signs ~ Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces
💦 TBR: Heidi's Guide to Four Letter Words– Sept pub, ‘mysterious character’, shy character - I so am adding this to my TBR!
💦 NEW: Thank You For Riding– Water on cover (snow is frozen water darn it!), hero is described as ‘stranger’ which makes him mysterious IMHO! – So I’m cheating a little… this is a book from our common books list and I really enjoyed this short, sweet story, though I feel like it could have been a full-length novel! I needed more!
Heidi's Guide to Four Letter Words by Tara Sivec Thank You For Riding by Cara McKenna
💦 TBR: Virgin Territory– MC is a writer (artistic) and sounds interesting!
💦 NEW: Getting Played– Published in October, MC is a drummer (artistic), female MC is brave IMHO! – Another one that hit all my buttons. You had the first book, Getting Schooled in your TBR, but I haven't read that one either. I HIGHLY recommend getting this one on Audible Escape (Amazon) if you can because the narrator who reads for the hero, Dean has a seriously sexy, panty-dropping voice! Worth it just for that! LOL Plus… you know… the book was awesome!
Virgin Territory by Cari Quinn Getting Played (Getting Some, #2) by Emma Chase

MountainKat | 31597 comments Hi Beth! Here are your picks - I hope they were worth the wait! In looking at your books, it seemed like you read lots of different genres, even within Romance. So my picks, especially the new ones, are kind of all over the too. Mostly some of my favorites that it seemed like you might like as well. 🤞🏼 Some of these were on your shelves, but you hadn't read the author and in this challenge, that counts as new to you. 😉

🔥 Pick a book with fire on the cover; has an artistic/creative cover (your interpretation); a book with a smart character or a character who is physically strong or fit
NEW: Something About You* by Julie James - Love this one and all of her books!
TBR: From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata - I really need to try this author, I keep seeing such good things!

🔥 Pick a book that starts with an A, L or S; published in March, July or November; a book with a character who is a leader/head of something; a character who is stubborn; or a character who travels
NEW: On Dublin Street by Samantha Young - This series lived up to all the hype from a few years ago for me! The author just grabs your emotion and doesn't let go!
TBR: Wallbanger* by Alice Clayton - This was hilarious!

🌎 Pick a book showing 'earth' on the cover (outdoor/scenic view, no people); has a realistic cover (your interpretation); a book with a character who is practical; or a character considered loyal
NEW: Sweet Little Lies* by Jill Shalvis - Love her books and this series!
TBR: First Class to Portland by A.J. Harmo - Always liked Portland...

🌎 Pick a book that starts with a T, V or C; published in April, August or December; a book with a character who gardens or cooks; a character who is shy; or a book about family
NEW: Playing for Keeps by R.L. Mathewson - Lots of fun, cute enemies to lovers story!
TBR: Enforcer by Samantha Whiskey - Nice cover!

💨 Pick a book with evidence of wind or clouds on the cover; with at least 2 people on the cover; a book with a social gathering; or with a character who gives or asks for advice
NEW: Heidi's Guide to Four Letter Words** by Tara Sivec and Andi Arndt - This just worked for me. I listened, I laughed and loved the whole experience! Andi Arndt's narration is great!
TBR: The Lightning-Struck Heart** by T.J. Klune - This book is fabulous! Totally worth the time to listen - Michael Lesley's narration and characterizations are amazing!

💨 Pick a book that starts with G, L or A; published in May, September or January; a book with a character considered friendly/good-natured; a character who likes to be outdoors; or a character who is helpful to others
NEW: Hard as It Gets by Laura Kaye - Really enjoyed this series, this is just the beginning of it all!
TBR: Secrets of a Summer Night* by Lisa Kleypas - I envy you getting to read these books for the first time!

💦 Pick a book with water on the cover or as the setting; that is tagged mystery; or a book with a character who is mysterious (your interpretation)
NEW: The Darkest Hour or In Bed with a Highlander both by Maya Banks - I couldn't decide between the RS and the HR since I loved them both! Though I think I lead towards the RS in this case - love those Kelly brothers! Anyway, I figured I would leave it up to you and whatever mood you are in at the time.
TBR: The Dom Who Loved Me* by Lexi Blake - Loving this series - I'm currently on #13!

💦 Pick a book that starts with C, S or P; published in June, October or February; a book with a character who is artistic (in any way); a character considered brave; or has a know it all character
NEW: Extreme Exposure* or Surrender* both by Pamela Clare - Again I couldn't decide between the RS and the HR, but I don't have a favorite here - other than the author. I love everything she writes!! You can't go wrong with either one and the audios are great for both!
TBR: Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord* by Sarah MacLean - Love her stuff too!

I don't know if you are a fan of audiobooks or not, but some of these are absolutely fabulous in audio! I marked the ones I especially loved and thought the narrators made the experience even better with an asterisk. 😊 Though honestly, I probably listed to all of the ones I've read. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Happy Reading!

These are fantastic MKat. I am glad March is a long month. I agree, I cannot believe I have not read these either. I do read just about every genre out there so thank you for taking the time to find such a great variety.

As for audiobooks, I am trying to listen to more but I have to really like the narrator. I will certainly check out all your suggestions. The one by Tara Sivec sounds promising since she wrote it with the narrator.

Thank you again and have a hope you have a great March 💖📚🍀📚💖

Hey Becca! Just wanted to let you know I got Beard Necessities (Winston Brothers, #7) by Penny Reid read and am working through both The Bridge Kingdom (The Bridge Kingdom, #1) by Danielle L. Jensen and Tinderbox (Flashpoint, #1) by Rachel Grant ! I liked Beard Necessities and am loving Bridge Kingdom so far! Tinderbox has kind of been set aside as I'm focusing on Bridge Kingdom first, but it's next! Still hoping to get to a few more this month, but we'll see! Been a little hectic lately with this whole widespread panic about this virus!

Here's hoping everyone is safe and health - and can find toilet paper! LOL!

Hi Chaos Book Reviews,
I have finished the first pick, and it was really good: Premeditated Peppermint Premeditated Peppermint (Amish Candy Shop Mystery #3) by Amanda Flower

I have started three more but will see how many I get read, since I am doing a favor for a teacher friend of mine who just asked me to read a book and write a quiz on it for one of her students (long story, on-going book project that I managed when I was still teaching and 'librarying'). The book has almost 700 pages so it is going to be a chore, and she is just getting the book to me today. I truly don't mind reading and writing the quizzes, in fact I enjoy it, and it is something I have done hundreds of times for hundreds of books, but this one is going to be intense so I don't know how many more of my March picks I will get read. (I will eventually ready most of them anyway, just not by month's end.)
Thanks for such good picks, though!

I hope you are having a good reading month.
