Read-A-Thon #1: Team Frosted Flakes
I’ve just finished my book and added it to triceratops. I’m going to bed now, so in the morning I’ll have a look at where we are at and see if any of the books I’m part way through fit any tasks for the next level. If not, I’ll start on Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books and Victoria.Goodnight, everyone!
Carmen (and anyone else awake), I only have a few chapters left. Are we in agreement that as soon as you and I finish our books we wildcard the rest so Emily can open it up before she goes to bed?

I wish I could say I'd finish the comics tonight as well, but that's still 150 or so pages haha! At least it'll surely work for the magic level!
I think apart from you and I, the others who had books almost finished are done. So unless someone objects that's what we'll do.
I have a few minutes left so I already filled out the form for it (so I can shut down my laptop as soon as I've finished it). I do intend to read at least one more comic, but who knows haha! How much do you have left?
That sounds perfect!! Wild card away once the two if you are done, Johanne and Carmen!I’ve started a 3 hour audiobook (which is over 100 pages) that counts for a couple of things in the unicorn level so I think I should be able to finish that one by tomorrow at least, even if I can’t finish the other print book I’m reading.
For some reason, only 13 of the 15 prompts showed up for y'all, so I've just edited that to include all of the prompts on the Mystical Animals level.
Great job, team, and good luck on this last level!

That was probably my fault, when editing the top of the sheet to look like the other tabs. Apologies! Thanks for fixing it!
Great Emily thanks!I've finished Dragonflight now.
wooohoo new level unlocked!
Kathryn will you fill out the wildcards? I'm too tired to figure out how we're supposed to record it.
Oooh I have a book I've almost finished that didn't fit the other levels fit here! (Author Umberto Eco)
Johanne wrote: "Oooh I have a book I've almost finished that didn't fit the other levels fit here! (Author Umberto Eco)"Oh - that's not for dinosaur level, is it?
I've just added wild cards for the 4 unfinished categories in the dinosaur level, so now we're onto the magical level! Still with 6 wild cards up our sleeve!
We can do it! I just read another comic, so this graphic novel will be finished tomorrow 🙌(Saturday) Only two more and an Annual to go!
Morning! Great work everybody!
I didn't know that the 5th level is with 15 prompts, oof, that won't be easy.
I'll have more time reading today and tomorrow and will finish the 2 books I'm currently reading for sure. If I have the time, I can read one more (short) book, that fits a prompt. Either fantasy or I'll look up the initials and choose that way.
Good morning all!No worries Kathryn, it wasn't for dinosaur, I was looking ahead :)
So I have the aforementioned bithday party today, but will be reading tonight.
I had a look at my graphic novels on my tbr shelf (handy for readathons) and I have 3 Lumberjanes written/drawn by several people, but Noel Stevenson is the one written on the spine of my library copies, so I went by that. She(?) has a handy name and works for a lot of the mystical creatures (NS are handy initials). I should be able ro read those tomorrow at the latest. We also have 6 wildcards.
I believe we can make it!
Great job - only needing four wildcards for Dinosaurs, in the end.
I'm going to try to read The Shadow Over Innsmouth, HP Lovecraft and The October Man, Ben Aaronovich today. They're both novellas, so it's possible.
October Man also has werewolf in the text, and that's one of the ones we don't have many options for (basically, October Man, currently :-) ) so I'll do that first.

Finally finished one....I've pretty much read all afternoon!!The Orphan Daughter by Cari Noga. I counted it for unicorn blood.
I read The Fox & Little Tanuki by Mia Tagawa, and put it for The Little Mermaid! Gonna write my review (it’s an eARC) and continue with Spider-Man!
I finished Spider-Man as well! It works for several prompts, so if it needs changing around, just let me know. I put it down for Phoenix tears for now :)
Carmen wrote: "I finished Spider-Man as well! It works for several prompts, so if it needs changing around, just let me know. I put it down for Phoenix tears for now :)"You are on a roll, Carmen! :)
I am catching an early, early flight to Dublin tomorrow morning, so better get some hours sleep before I have to wake up in the middle of the night.
Hilde wrote: "You are on a roll, Carmen!"Haha thanks! I am now trying to figure out what I can read that will work for this last level. We need 6 more books read to make it. I have a book that would work for 2 prompts, but I don't really feel like reading it.. I found a book with Yeti in the title that looks fun but it's a sequel, and I'm not sure if I can fit in the first..
EDIT: I've asked in the FAQs if the illustrator's name would also count, because if it does, I can fit in the first book as well, and I can read the three books and tick off three prompts! (They are middle grade reads with drawings!)
EDIT EDIT: THEY COUNT!
Great Bec and Carmen!I just finished Seks vandringer i fiktionens skov (Six Walks in the Fictional Woods) by Umberto Eco. I put it for author initials 'pegasus', that had fewest options, but feel free to move it if necessary.
Carmen - don't read anything you don't feel like! (this is almost my life motto).

Woohh! With the three books I'll be adding for sure, that means we'll have 7/15, which means we are very close to 9/15 which is the minimum we need to finish it all out!
I’ve just added A Girl Is a Half-formed Thing for Mother of Dragons. I’m really glad I finished it, as it’s a book I have struggled with all week. If I didn’t need it for one of my challenges, I would have dnf-ed it, as only my second ever dnf. But honestly, if anyone is looking for a book with a made up language, I would recommend reading anything but this!I’m nearly finished with Victoria, but I’m quite tired so I probably won’t finish it tonight. When I do finish it, I’ll check which options are still open, and try and find a short book that would fit, probably Dear Martin as it's just over 200 pages, has popular initials and is currently available from the library.
Good night, everyone!
Thank you, Johanne! I only have 30 min left of Educated, which I’m for sure will finish on my flight tomorrow. Sadly I don’t think it will fit any tasks. Happy last day of reading tomorrow, everyone 😊📚
And yeti! These three books are great for this level haha! Shame his pet dragon does not yet breathe fire heh.
HA HE BREATHED FIRE! Finished the first book of the three, so gonna add it to the sheet and call it a night. It’s 2am after all 😅
Haha, looks like you picked the right books for level 5! And I pretty much started my day (waaay to early) when you went to bed 😴🤣
Morning all.
Many apologies. I had a total reading fail yesterday, and only managed about 20pg. So I'll try to do better today.
Still planning on the same two novellas, and they currently have prompts open.

Good morning all! We're covering this readathon 24/7 with different time zones and sleeping habits ;)
No pressure Trish! The readathon is 9 days (I think) so it would be weird if we didn't all have days weweren't reading much.
I haven’t been reading much today either! Getting organised to check out and then drive back from the coast, getting unpacked, and then getting the grass mowed...! I did listen to an audiobook while mowing, and have 17min left in it, so will get that finished before I head off to bed, and will see how our spreadsheet’s looking (think I might need to juggle some) but I won’t be finishing my print book :-(
Sorry everyone, I’ve been so busy this week trying to get my classes ready to go online tomorrow that I’m not going to finish anymore books. But I did read another 225 pages if that counts for something! My province in China has gone about 1.5 weeks with no new corona virus cases reported so we’ve ventured out a couple of times to play outside in places with no/few people. Doesn’t seem like schools will reopen anytime soon though. Hope all of you stay safe too!
Just came across a yeti in Lumberjanes vol. 1. I mean how cool is that? I had no idea. Should I cross that Carmen? Seems you had a lot of other options for your book?
I put it for yeti, but feel free to move it, it fits a lot. We've finished 7/15, so with our 6 wildcards we only have to finish 2 more, then we've managed 5th level!

(But yes, as Carmen pointed out, it's been hiding in your spreadsheet all along! 😉)"
Thumbs up!
