Has anyone read, "I Kill the Mockingbird"

I am curious to other's thoughts of "I Kill the Mockingbird." I haven't read many of the contenders this year. When I was picking up the 14th Goldfish (which I enjoyed) from the library, I also saw this book on the 'new books' shelf. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but can't speak critically yet. I find that when I enjoy a book, I need to read it a second time to evaluate it. I get too into the book to be critical the first time around.

Has anyone read it?

I read it. I thought the book was okay. I liked Signs of Crazy better which was published last year. Signs of Crazy mentions "To Kill a Mockingbird" a lot.

Yes, and I loved it and would recommend it, but I doubt it's a Newbery. Maybe, but I've read others that are stronger contenders.

I loved the characters and the many literary references, but the plot was far-fetched. I would recommend it as a good read, but I don't see it as a Newbery contender.

I completely agree. This felt like a book that an adult wrote without considering the audience.
